I was lucky enough to be at the MCG in 98 to witness England's win. Ramps took a blinding catch to dismiss Langer in Aussie 2nd innings and then Dean Headley bowled a magic spell. I managed to get on the field to join in the celebrations with a few thousand Barmy Army. We got outside and managed to meet the English players at they got on the team bus. Ramps got on the mic and belted out a few songs to the crowd, great times! I put this slightly ahead of 2005, obviously from a personal bias but also England were hugh underdogs in 98 so that win was a huge surprise

Old Trafford 1956, and Headingly 1981 are surely the stand-out tests for England Bob Massie's Test for Australia( 1972?)

it is MCG 1998, steve waugh got stranded in the non striker end,, patting the bat encouraging Mcgrath for each and every delivery glenn survived,, goughie blews the tail away, dean headley's 6 for in the 2nd innings,, and who can forget Mark ramprakash's scintillating one handed match turning catch to dismiss justin langer,,, 2005 at birmingham,,, it is the best team which has won,, but it was an underdog which has won in 1998 swallowing the giants then,,, so it is MCG 1998 in my opinion
