ICC Champions Trophy Warm-up Matches

Pakistan v South Africa

Pakistan won by 6 wickets (with 27 balls remaining)

The South African openers are coming out on the field. It will be Hashim Amla and Alviro Petersen who will take on the new ball. Junaid Khan has ball in hand and is set to start proceedings here at The Oval. Petersen is playing his first ODI since January 2012, and was brought in for the injured Graeme Smith.

Toss, 10:00am Pakistan have won the toss and have elected to bowl first.

Misbah: "We want to chase, give a little idea of how to go about the chase. Looks a good surface, pretty dry, a little bit of grass. Looks a good pitch, a dry pitch."

AB de Villiers: "I think we are going to give all the guys a bit of a go today. We would also have liked to bowl first. Batting first we will get some good practice in. A lot of energy has come into the team, guys who play with fearlessness. Looking forward to what is ahead and we have a good squad. A nice outing for all of us. The sun is out and we are all looking forward to playing some ODI cricket."

Not often you see Sanjay Manjrekar out on a stroll with the two captains as they make their way to the toss. Usually the camera pans to the pitch with the two captains awaiting the toss!

Appears to be a solid breeze going across the ground. Should be interesting to see how that influences the bowlers.

Moses: "Will be interesting to see how the SA openers play the big man (Irfan). Troubled Smith tremendously in the series in South Africa, and gave Petersen a challenge in the test."

Omer Muneer Qazi: "I'm heart broken already due to Game of Thrones, please Pakistan, no more heartbreakers!

And a happy birthday to Wasim Akram who turns 47 today!

9:45am Hello and welcome to this live coverage of the warm-up fixture between South Africa and Pakistan. South Africa arrive fresh from their massive win over Netherlands last Friday. JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis made their return to the ODI fold after recovering from their injuries. They both finished with healthy scores, with Duminy striking an unbeaten 150, and du Plessis with 62 not out. They arrived in England over the weekend and will be raring to go in local English conditions.

Pakistan arrived a little earlier than South Africa in England, but not till they played two exciting ODIs against Ireland, a series they could have easily lost had things gone against their favour. They were scheduled to play a warm-up against Sri Lanka on May 30 which was unfortunately rained out without a ball bowled. Pakistan haven't visited these shores since the infamous spot-fixing scandal in 2010. They will certainly hope for a change in fortune this time around.

It's a lovely sunny day at The Oval, although still a balmy 13 C. Looking at a maximum of 18 C. But all in all looks like rain will not intervene in this encounter. Which should be good news for Pakistani fans.

Match State: Innings Break

2.15pm South Africa looked to play too many shots early and too little late in the innings. McLaren, with an attacking fifty, and Duminy salvaged a below-par performance by the top order and took the team past the 200 mark. With Steyn in top form and Morkel who might be a handful on English conditions, Pakistan will still have to bat well to cross the line.

Join us in 40 minutes for the second innings
