The innings which Mahmudullah played against New Zealand, on Friday, helped Bangladesh score a sizeable 288 in their fifty overs. Mahmudullah also became the seventh ODI batsman to score two-consecutive ODI hundred's in a World Cup.
The right-hander took apart a quality New Zealand attack and clubbed 12 fours and three sixes. Mahmudullah and Sabbir Rahman added a quick fire 78 for the sixth wicket. The duo scored at a rate of 9.75 runs per over and took Bangladesh from 182 to 260.
New Zealand added to their woes when Corey Anderson dropped Mahmudullah, at second slip, when he was just one, in the 11th over. The right-hander made the most of the opportunity and added 128-more runs in his innings.
Mahmudullah becomes only the second Bangladesh batsman to hit hundreds in back-to-back ODIs. Bangladesh eventually lost the match by a narrow margin, but Mahmudullah's knock qualifies for #BendTheRules Moments of the day.
