Profile

A right-handed top order batsman, Mandeep Singh was named India's vice-captain for the 2010 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He was one of the stars of the 2009 U-19 tour of Australia, where he cracked a match-winning 151 in a one-dayer. His father, an athletics coach in Jalandhar, wasn't very pleased with his son's cricketing ambitions. But he was later convinced when Mandeep emerged as one of the leading batsmen in junior cricket.
