Shah Saleem Zafar was a useful cricketer in his youth, good enough to play for university and District and departmental level competition in Karachi, Pakistan. At young age of 21 migrated to Canada and played top level cricket in Toronto District Cricket league in 70's and 80's. Shah has over 30 years of experience in officiating in many different sports including Cricket, umpires assignment and evaluation experience and making significant contribution to the game. Shah is actively an Elite umpire, mostly umpiring in Elite games in Toronto District Cricket League in Canada.
