Anamul Haque, the wicketkeeper-batsman, will lead a 15-member Bangladesh squad in the Under-19 World Cup in Australia. Nurul Hasan will be Anamul's deputy. Anamul toured Zimbabwe recently for the Twenty20 tri-series with the senior side and was not part of the junior team which was knocked out by Afghanistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup.
Bangladesh Under-19 squad for the World Cup |
There are four changes from the Asia Cup squad whose failure prompted the BCB to ask the captain, coach, manager and selectors for an explanation. Bangladesh finished third in Group B, behind Afghanistan, and lost out on a semi-final berth.
Bangladesh have been grouped with South Africa, Sri Lanka and Namibia in Group D. They will face Sri Lanka in their opening match on August 11.

I would like to give thanks BD team selector as they select very good team under 19. I would be very happy, once BD reaches to semi-final. Good luck to BD team all members.
Posted byIf BD under 19 qualified to Sami-final, i would be very happy.
Posted byGive us some happiness...do your job, leave the pressure out.......& win the CUP. GO TIGERS GO :)
Posted byHope U19 team will do better...where is our Academy foreign coach (Richard Makins).U19 teams should take care by foreign better coaches as well trainers.. Bangladesh somehow should play in second round...we do not want to be another plate champion...we already have three plate trophies..
Posted byExcellent selection by BCB.Change of captain is a good decision as well. The squad looks well balanced and I think they will do very well in Australia.
Posted by joynal693 on (July 7, 2012, 6:27 GMT)Best of luck. try to bring your best, we will be happy.
Posted byNice decision. Anamul shud play U-19 and domestic cricket before exposing him in international arena.
Posted by banglacric.com on (July 7, 2012, 0:04 GMT)Very good decision from BCB. Asif failed to inspire the team. With the two front line pacers (Rahi and Taskin) back, Bangladesh will turned into a different team. Anamul and Liton will add much needed steel to Bangladesh batting. Best of luck tigers, see you in Brisbane in August!
