Stats editor Every week the Numbers Game takes a look at the story behind the stats, with an original slant on facts and figures. The column is edited by S Rajesh, ESPNcricinfo's stats editor in Bangalore. He did an MBA in marketing, and then worked for a year in advertising, before deciding to chuck it in favour of a job which would combine the pleasures of watching cricket and writing about it. The intense office cricket matches were an added bonus.

Jess Cameron's 75 off 76 balls was not just 75 runs. I saw that as a feat when all ladies have been scoring at snail's pace. Not to forget Lisa's spectacular catch to dismiss the last batswoman. Awesome OZ stolen the show. Jodie Fields has been so influencing, and it was quite evident from the way she tried to dismiss the Windies' 10th wicket, not leaking running even though it was apparent that WI had no chance of coming back into the game. Meg Lanning's acrobatic efforts in the deep spoke volume as how these ladies have taken fielding in to consideration. WWC13, was equally engaging through out. Thank you Star Cricket. I guess many followed WWC13 like me.
fazald: well said, i liked the Laura Marsh bowled, and I wish she could play alongside Monty and Swann
Posted by fazald on (February 18, 2013, 13:13 GMT)Jess Cameron's innings was very entertaining and the strokeplay was exquisite. This is one of the best innings that I have seen in international cricket in a very long time. So full of confidence and effortless strokes all roumd the wicket which was a treat to watch. I wish she could represent the aussie mens team in international cricket. What a talented cricketer to be born a woman.
