Rachel Priest is a wicketkeeper-batsman who rose up through the ranks at Central Districts. In January 2007 she was named in the New Zealand A squad for the first time, and an impressive 36 off 34 balls in her first game helped with her promotion to the full squad for the tours of Australia and England later in the year.

A technically correct wicketkeeper, Priest is also a hard-hitting batsman and became an increasingly consistent run-maker as her career unfolded. The year 2015 was a remarkably prolific one for her - she scored 592 runs in ODIs at an average of 53.81, including four fifties and two centuries.
