ICC World Twenty20 - 18th match, Group 1

Sri Lanka v West Indies

Sri Lanka won by 9 wickets (with 28 balls remaining)

Angelo Mathews to open up. Remember WT20 2009 against Windies? 3 in one sensational over

7.25: National anthems are on. First up, Rally Around the West Indies.

Shazad: "West Indies need to make at least 180 to have a fighting chance. Calypso cricket is back. GO WEST INDIES GO! is curry beef and peas today!"

Nick Hendo: "why would the windies pick edwards ? they already have russel, rampaul, narine and sammy, with gayle, bravo and pollard capable of rolling the arm over ... why wouldn't they pick another specialist batsmen?"

7.15: Dan has his fingers crossed for Sri Lanka: "As a NZ supporter needing a miracle if we are to claim our perennial semi-final spot, can I whole-heartedly say, GO SRI LANKA!"

Nabeel isn;t happy with West Indies' selection: "I think it is a very rash decision from the west indies by not playing samuel badree in the game.He was so economical in the previous game. And from Nz England match it is obvious that there is something in the pitch for the spinners."

Sasidhar: "Sri Lanka players have such long initials that they look like they are 15 member squad even when they are only 11."

Toss: Darren Sammy has won the toss and WI will bat first. Just one change - Fidel Edwards comes in for Samuel Badree.

Mahela Jayawardene: "Unfortunately the little guy (Akila Dananjaya) didn't make it. His swelling hasn't gone so Rangana Herath replaces him."

One change each for both teams. Sammy may have been encouraged by the performance of his seamers against England - Rampaul snatched two in one over - so extra pace is the idea today.

Dananjaya was always doubtful. Wouldn't fancy getting knocked above the nose while fielding would you? Mahela is quite a fan of the 'little guy'. Andrew Fernando has this on Dananjaya's debut performance which got lost in the frenzy of the Super Over.

6.50pm: Match two in Pallekele and it's two tournament favourites Sri Lanka and West Indies taking on each other. We just saw England pretty much strolling past New Zealand at the same ground and pick up their first points in the Super Eights. West Indies and Sri Lanka already won their opening games so a win here will ease the path to the semi-finals. More in the preview for this game.

Excellent work by the hosts to keep a mighty batting lineup to just 129. Proves that if you get Gayle early and cheaply as they did, it really tests the nerves of the other batsmen. The bowling was complimented by the fielding as well. Will be very hard work for the bowlers now.

Join us in ten minutes for the chase.
