1.1

Pathan to Imran Nazir, 2 runs, walks down the wicket, and chips this length ball over mid-on for two

1.2

Pathan to Imran Nazir, FOUR, dances down the wicket, and pulls this smack over midwicket. Almost as if against a left-arm spinner

Fine leg comes in, midwicket goes back

1.3

Pathan to Imran Nazir, 2 runs, but Nazir tries to clear that deep midwicket on the bigger part of the playing field. Just as well for Nazir that he hasn't timed it well as this one doesn't carry to deep midwicket

1.4

Pathan to Imran Nazir, 3 runs, slogs this time, mis-hits it wide of mid-on and Balaji is slow enough to allow them three. Dhoni is not pleased with it

1.5

Pathan to Mohammad Hafeez, no run, short of a length, outside off, Hafeez is cramped on the cut

1.6

Pathan to Mohammad Hafeez, SIX, down the wicket, close to the pitch of it, and lofts it over mid-off. Lovely clean shot

2.3

Khan to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR, length ball, wide outside off, driven down the ground, and mid-off is wide enough to let it go for four

3.5

Ashwin to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, OUT, slower through the air, Hafeez has to wait for it before he can cut it. Gambhir gives chase from inside the circle, slides and fields. Nasir Jamshed run out 0 (0b 0x4 0x6) SR: -

7.1

Harbhajan Singh to Kamran Akmal, FOUR, another fine shot from Akmal. He goes back to a length ball and cuts it. Slightly uppish, which is why Balaji at short third goes for the catch. He is nowhere close to it, and the ball bounces over him for four

"What happened to Praveen Kumar... he is better than all bowlers in current Indian squad..." Arun, you might want to ask Srikkanth and friends, who, by the way, don't consider anybody good enough to explain this decision to. I know for a fact that even Praveen Kumar doesn't know what he has done wrong. Anyway, Ashwin is back

Six required off the last over. Irfan to bowl the last over...

19.1

Pathan to Kamran Akmal, SIX, ... make it the last ball. High full toss, and Akmal goes inside-out and well over cover fence

That brings to an end our coverage of the warm-up game between India and Pakistan. The real thing starts tomorrow, and Cricinfo will bring you every ball of the event. Cheers

Post-match analysis from captains
"The way the boys approached the chase was very positive," says Mohammad Hafeez. "We knew if India could post that total, we knew we could get it if we worked hard. Kamran Akmal was exceptional. The experience of Malik was also the key. He supported Kamran really well. The bowlers tried hard, but things didn't work out for them today."

"It was a good game," says MS Dhoni. "We gave a few too may runs with the new ball, but apart from that it was a good game for all of us. It's a difficult choice [whether to pick an extra bowler]. I have part-timers who can be used, and we are a side that is comfortable playing seven batsmen."

What a knock from Akmal - 92 from 50 to win Pakistan a game that seemed lost after India had posted 185, and then after the middle-order wobble. Shambolic bowling and fielding from India (is any total they post safe?), but Pakistan won't complain. They have had a reassuring win, which has been set up by their batsmen, considered their weaker suit.
