Lloyd Williams was a schoolmaster at Millfield for many years. He won a Blue at table tennis at Oxford but did not represent his university at cricket, although he played for Glamorgan 2nd XI in the Minor Counties Championship in the late 1940s and then for Somerset 2nd XI in the mid 1950s. A good club batsman, his three first-class outings all came at Weston-Super-Mare in 1955 where the pitch was described by The Times as "spiteful". All three matches were lost, with Williams making 0 and 1 on debut as Surrey bowled Somerset out for 36. In the next game he top scored with 24 against Glamorgan, but promoted to open he scored 1,2 and 2, finishing with 30 runs from six innings. A prolific scorer in club cricket, he captained Bath in 1958 and 59 and also played regularly for the Somerset Stragglers.
