Greg Armstrong had a relatively brief first-class career as a fast bowler, and he was highly rated enough to lure Glamorgan to sign him in 1974. He struggled with the English conditions and was also plagued by no-ball problems. In 1975 he took 45 wickets at 31.00 and in 1976, 25 at 37.08. He was not retained. He only played nine times for a strong Barbados side. In 1982-83 he earned himself a lifetime ban by travelling to South Africa as the assistant manager of the rebel West Indies side. He now works for the Barbados Tourism Authority.
