Pieter Seelaar made his debut as a canny 18-year-old left-arm spinner but found fame, momentarily, for his penguin dance after dismissing England captain Paul Collingwood in Netherland's historic win in the opening game of the 2009 World Twenty20. Seelaar is not a great spinner of the ball but his economy rate is good and, despite being just 21 years old, knows his game well. In the Asian conditions at the World Cup he will form an important pairing with Adeel Raja in the middle overs. Seelaar's favourite player is another left-arm spinner who started young - Daniel Vettori.
Strengths
He is accurate and changes his pace cleverly, and will back himself in the important role of leading the spin attack in Asia. Is a better batsman than his stats suggest.
