Alexei Kervezee is the brightest batting talent to emerge from Dutch cricket, and drew comparison with Graeme Hick when not even 20 years old. He made his first-class debut for Netherlands aged 15 - against Scotland in the Intercontinental Cup in 2005 - and was snapped up Worcestershire a year later. Dutch bowling coach Ian Pont claimed the young Kervezee had "shades of Graeme Hick" about him and after a barnstorming 2010 season, the Worcestershire faithful began to see why. Still just 20 years old at the time, he amassed 1,190 runs at 44.07 in the season and sage judges back him to go one better than Hick, and crack Test cricket.
Strengths
An all-round batting talent who opens the innings. Despite his youth he already has World Cup experience to draw back on, having played in the 2007 tournament as a 17 year old.

His two World Cup outings in 2007 came against South Africa and Australia. Though he didn't have the impact he would have liked - making 17 and 0 - the lessons learned, and the feeling of representing his country on the biggest stage - will be invaluable.
