Kenya's long-term new-ball bowler, Peter Ongondo's is one of the first names on any Kenyan team sheet, and his ODI average of only one wicket per match in his 77 matches belies his value to the side. Medium pace rather than anything sharper, much will depend on whether he can adjust to conditions in the subcontinent. His form in the warm-up series in India was worryingly disappointing.

He has taken some vital wickets but his real strength is in keeping the run-rate down. His experience is key in an unsteady bowling line-up
