When he first played for Kenya in 2006, Mumbai-born Tanmay Mishra was widely regarded as the most promising young batsman for some time, but after a poor World Cup in 2007 he headed to India to continue his education and disappeared from the scene completely, so much so that for a time the selectors believed he was lost to the cause. He is back just in time for the World Cup but his form leading into the tournament has been patchy.

A sound technique and no shortage of courage, and is also an outstanding fielder.
