Though Atse Burrman is in the squad as Netherlands' back-up wicket-keeper, he was once good enough to be thought of purely as a batsman - much like his cricking hero Brendon McCullum. The promise he showed back in 2006, when he struck 53 from 75 balls in a Netherlands A game against India A to save his team's blushes after they had been reduced to 10 for 3 in the EurAsia Series in 2006, has not quite been built on but his experience will be valuable.
Strengths
A personal trainer by profession Buurman's strength is his power and fitness. He has the experience and resolve to slot into the team at the last minute without fuss if required.
