Bangladesh pace bowler Rubel Hossain has been ruled out of the World T20s with a finger injury. He has been replaced by allrounder Ziaur Rahman.

Rubel sustained the injury during Bangladesh's match against Hong Kong when he attempted to take Irfan Ahmed's catch at short third-man. He didn't return to the field for the rest of the game. An X-ray on Friday revealed he had dislocated and relocated his ring finger.

Ziaur, a T20 specialist and a regular member in the format since his debut in 2012, was the surprise exclusion when the Bangladesh World T20 squad was first announced last month. The selectors had said at the time that Farhad Reza was picked ahead of him due to better form but Ziaur has a 140-plus strike rate in T20 internationals. In the Asia Cup, he had two good batting performances and one good bowling outing.

Bangladesh's other injury concern, Mashrafe Mortaza, who has suffered a rib injury during the Afghanistan match on March 16, is on the road to recovery but a final decision is likely to be taken in the next two days.

Team news for BD VS WI

Bangladesh are expected to make several changes to the side that went down to Hong Kong. With Rubel Hossain injured, Ziaur Rahman is likely to get a game while offspinner Sohag Gazi is set to replace the expensive Farhad Reza. They could also bring in Shamsur Rahman for Sabbir Rahman.

Bangladesh (probable): 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Anamul Haque, 3 Shamsur Rahman, 4 Shakib Al Hasan, 5 Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), 6 Nasir Hossain, 7 Mahmudullah, 8 Ziaur Rahman, 9 Sohag Gazi, 10 Abdur Razzak, 11 Al-Amin Hossain

Thanks to BCB for taking a good decision before it is too late including Ziaur, although keeping Reza cannot be considered as a sensible decision...........

guys i still think sabbir can play a good role.we hv seen him how good he can play as in bpl.he was the only guy who didnt play rash shot rather got out playing a very good inswinger.if u r to blame then its the experienced tamim.he started the mess in the first place.dunno what he was thinking.trying to cut a ball on midstump to push it through cover?insane.

The selectors must be investigated for their dubious decisions like picking farhad reza when zia played so well in asia cup......nasir must be dropped immediately and mominul should take his place....razzak should retire and sohag gazi should take his place....rubel must be dropped and taskin should be selected.

Albert_cambell is a poor SL fan (and NOT a saffer by any means), and like his fellow countrymen started talking trash about BD after we thrashed SL bowlers to post a first innings total of 600+ and took lead even without our best player Shakib. No need to be tempted by those SL fans' trash talking.

As Einstein said 'Insanity is doing same thing again and again and expecting a different result'. Reza and Razzak are proven failures now. Nasir and Riyad is horribly out of form in batting, though Riyad can perform as a bowler. So, if our selectors persist with Reza, Razzak, Nasir it will not bring any new results. Instead they should give chances to Mominul, Sunny and Shamsur. Here's my XI:- 1. Tamim, 2. Anamul, 3. Shamsur, 4. Shakib, 5. Mominul / Mushfiq, 6. Mushfiq / Mominul, 7. Riyad / Zia, 8. Zia / Riyad, 9. Gazi / Sunny, 10. Mash / Sunny / Gazi, 11. Al-amin

This XI have the power hitters as well as crease occupiers and most importantly, all of them are in-form.
