ICC Cricket World Cup, 3rd Match, Group A: Sri Lanka v Canada at Hambantota, Feb 20, 2011
ICC Cricket World Cup - 3rd match, Group A
Sri Lanka won by 210 runs
20 February 2011 - day/night match (50-over match)

Baidwan to Tharanga, OUT, For the second time in two days, the first wicket is thanks to a horrible mix-up and Tharanga is gone. Back of a length outside off, and Tharanga guides it wide of mid off and sets off for a single. He is three-fourths of the way down the track when he notices that Dilshan is actually turning the other way. Tharanga almost completed one and a half runs, but fell short by a foot though he dived in.

WU Tharanga run out 19 (56m 31b 1x4 0x6) SR: 61.29

Sri Lanka 63/1   TM Dilshan 39* (41b 7x4)   HS Baidwan 3.4-0-22-0

Rizwan Cheema to Dilshan, OUT, That's the end of Dilshan, holes out to deep cover, a short of length ball well outside off, Dilshan chases after that one and gets it only as far as the fielder in the deep, Dilshan falls for exactly 50

TM Dilshan c Davison b Rizwan Cheema 50 (86m 59b 8x4 0x6) SR: 84.74

Sri Lanka 88/2   KC Sangakkara 14* (26b)   Rizwan Cheema 2.1-0-8-1

Davison to Sangakkara, OUT, Sangakkara has not made a 100 since the 2008 Asia Cup. The wait continues. He pops a gentle return catch as Davison slows it up and gets it to turn a bit. Sanga did not get entirely forward, he was possibly trying to chip it in the air as he's done all day. He did, but could not clear the bowler. He knows he has missed an easy 100 today. It went off the bottom of the bat, he possibly should have come more forward to drive.

KC Sangakkara c & b Davison 92 (134m 87b 7x4 1x6) SR: 105.74

Sri Lanka 267/3   DPMD Jayawardene 96* (76b 9x4 1x6)   JM Davison 7-0-53-1

Davison to Jayawardene, OUT, Well, Mahela was tiring, it did seem he was going to throw caution to the winds once he reached 100. He gets across the line and looks to lap sweep over short fine leg. Makes good connection, but can't get it over the fielder. Ends up giving the fielder catching practice. Well played, Mahela.

DPMD Jayawardene c Balaji Rao b Davison 100 (115m 81b 9x4 1x6) SR: 123.45

Sri Lanka 276/4   NLTC Perera 5* (7b)   JM Davison 8-0-56-2

Khurram Chohan to Mathews, OUT, Thisara may be run out here. Full ball on off stump, Mathews digs it out straight to point and takes off. The throw was perfect, beside the stumps and left Bagai with little to do. Thisara was close to a foot out of his ground when the stumps were broken. Crucial wicket, I'd say.

NLTC Perera run out 11 (17m 11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

Sri Lanka 284/5   AD Mathews 2* (3b)   Khurram Chohan 7.1-0-51-0

Baidwan to Kapugedera, OUT, Kapu has perished. Seemed to not pick the change in pace as Baidwan delivered a full slow delivery on off stump. Kapu turned the face early as he looked to work it square, but the ball came through in the next era. He got a leading edge and it ballooned up for an easy take at cover

CK Kapugedera c sub (NR Kumar) b Baidwan 2 (5m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Sri Lanka 295/6   AD Mathews 11* (6b 2x4)   HS Baidwan 7-0-43-1

Baidwan to Mathews, OUT, Sixty years from now, the grandchildren in the Baidwan household will hear this story. Harvir has won a memorable mini-battle here. Angelo and he have sparred at each other, and he's stuck to his guns despite the heat in the air. This one was the slower ball, delivered back of driving length and sucking Mathews into the drive. He scoops it to the leg side high, and Harvir runs back to complete the catch by himself. And then he roars in joy!

AD Mathews c & b Baidwan 21 (25m 16b 3x4 0x6) SR: 131.25

Sri Lanka 314/7   TT Samaraweera 7* (5b 1x4)   HS Baidwan 8.3-0-53-2
