ICC Cricket World Cup - 23rd match, Group A

Canada v Kenya

Canada won by 5 wickets (with 27 balls remaining)

5.1

Baidwan to CO Obuya, FOUR, almost another one, gets the outside edge as he pushes hard off the back foot, but it falls well short of first slip

Kenya 11/2   CO Obuya 9* (15b 1x4)   HS Baidwan 2.1-1-8-0

5.6

Baidwan to CO Obuya, FOUR, takes on the man at mid on with a chip in the air off a length delivery, gets it just over him as he goes running to his right, the outfield takes care of the rest

Kenya 17/2   CO Obuya 14* (18b 2x4)   HS Baidwan 3-1-14-0

7.2

Desai to CO Obuya, FOUR, this time he takes leave of the crease, comes down the track, and lifts this flighted one high over mid off

Kenya 25/3   CO Obuya 21* (21b 3x4)   PA Desai 0.2-0-4-0

11.4

Baidwan to Mishra, FOUR, gets a full toss on leg stump, happily pushes it in to the gap between midwicket and mid on, who had no chance on the Kotla outfield

Kenya 45/4   T Mishra 4* (1b 1x4)   HS Baidwan 4.4-1-21-1

13.4

Baidwan to Tikolo, FOUR, Tikolo finds the gap past extra cover, and beats mid off who puts in a vain dive, minimum of fuss, got behind this one outside off stump, and pushed it firmly in the gap

Kenya 54/4   SO Tikolo 10* (15b 1x4)   HS Baidwan 5.4-1-28-1

15.2

Hansra to Kamande, FOUR, Kamande is away with an outside edge squeezed down to third man. Hansra tosses up wide outside the off side and Kamande goes for the cover drive. Won't mind where it went, it got him four

Kenya 62/5   JK Kamande 4* (1b 1x4)   AS Hansra 0.2-0-5-0

19.1

Hansra to Mishra, FOUR, surprise, surprise, a decisive hit for four. Tossed up invitingly outside off, Mishra plants the front foot well across and swipes with power through midwicket.

Kenya 69/5   T Mishra 15* (20b 2x4)   AS Hansra 2.1-0-11-0

20.4

Rizwan Cheema to Kamande, FOUR, four for Kamande, and comes through a rather pleasing shot. Cheema helped the cause by over-cooking a yorker and delivering a mfull toss on leg stump. Kamande just drove cleanly with the full face to get four through long on.

Kenya 77/5   JK Kamande 10* (22b 2x4)   Rizwan Cheema 3.4-1-8-1

26.2

Davison to Mishra, FOUR, a rare boundary for Kenya. Mishra gets another fastish delivery from Davison, wasted as it drifts down the leg side, and he lap sweeps it well, taking care to get it finer than the man at short fine leg. Away for four.

Kenya 94/5   T Mishra 30* (37b 3x4)   JM Davison 1.2-0-8-0

28.2

Osinde to Kamande, FOUR, take that. Kamande has struggled against spin, and clearly prefers pace on the ball. This was just short of a length and coming into his body, Kamande responded by standing tall and smacking the pull between mid on and midwicket. Dismissive.

Kenya 108/5   JK Kamande 22* (53b 3x4)   H Osinde 7.2-2-20-3

30.2

Baidwan to Odoyo, FOUR, this time he strays on the pads, and Odoyo plays a nice flick through square leg. Rao is in the thick of things, running in from deep fine leg and diving away like a Bollywood hero's stunt double would, and he is sprawling on the ropes as the ball trickles past.

Kenya 114/6   TM Odoyo 5* (6b 1x4)   HS Baidwan 6.2-1-32-1

34.4

Desai to Odoyo, FOUR, Odoyo comes charging down the track, gets to the pitch and lifts this tossed up one with the turn over extra cover, one bounce over the ropes

Kenya 132/6   TM Odoyo 17* (21b 2x4)   PA Desai 2.4-0-20-0

38.2

Rizwan Cheema to Odoyo, FOUR, Odoyo gets the timing perfect on this one, it was fuller and he came forward confidently to meet it with a straight bat and sent it racing past extra cover, and it was too quick for long off

Kenya 146/6   TM Odoyo 24* (31b 3x4)   Rizwan Cheema 5.2-1-15-1

39.3

Balaji Rao to Odoyo, FOUR, goes for the slog sweep, it was the googly, he picked it and hammered it with the turn beyond cow corner

Kenya 153/6   TM Odoyo 30* (35b 4x4)   WD Balaji Rao 9.3-0-34-1

40.2

Rizwan Cheema to Odoyo, FOUR, shot! it was slapped away past extra cover off the front foot, it was very full close to off stump, and went through with the full bat swing, beating sweeper cover to the boundary

Kenya 160/6   TM Odoyo 35* (38b 5x4)   Rizwan Cheema 6.2-1-21-1

48.4

Rizwan Cheema to Otieno, FOUR, the old slog gets some runs finally, he made some room and gave it a thwack, the extra bounce on that one took the outside edge and flew wide of short third man

Kenya 193/8   E Otieno 8* (15b 1x4)   Rizwan Cheema 8.4-1-30-1
