ICC Cricket World Cup - 25th match, Group B

India v Netherlands

India won by 5 wickets (with 81 balls remaining)

1.5

Nehra to Barresi, FOUR, slow and sluggish start here from Nehra. He's once again over-pitched, this time on middle and leg, and Barresi has pounced on it with a half step forward and driven crisply to the right of mid off

Netherlands 12/0   W Barresi 6* (5b 1x4)   A Nehra 0.5-0-6-0

2.3

Khan to Szwarczynski, FOUR, a shot that underlines just how hopelessly slow this pitch is. Full credit to Eric though, for playing a fine shot. Back of a length, this one hardly takes off from the track, and comes off slowly, Eric's stance is outside the crease and he continues to move down to meet the ball on top of what little bounce is there, and coaxes it in front of square for four

Netherlands 16/0   ES Szwarczynski 6* (9b 1x4)   Z Khan 1.3-0-6-0

4.3

Khan to Szwarczynski, FOUR, nicely done by Eric. Zaheer again slants it into the pads, this time he lands it short of a length, but once again Eric is chipping down the track to make his own pace. He nearly converts it into tha half-volley and on-drives with lovely timing past short midwicket

Netherlands 22/0   ES Szwarczynski 11* (17b 2x4)   Z Khan 2.3-0-10-0

4.5

Khan to Szwarczynski, FOUR, hideously lazt start this from India. Back of a length and wide of off stump, Eric looks to steer and gets an under edge that goes between Dhoni and the wide slip. Surely Dhoni could have made a better effort and stopped the ball, but his half-hearted jump is of no use.

Netherlands 26/0   ES Szwarczynski 15* (19b 3x4)   Z Khan 2.5-0-14-0

9.3

Pathan to Barresi, FOUR, whoa, was that a chance? Barresi gets a short ball outside off and plays an uppish pull just away from Yuvraj at midwicket

Netherlands 38/0   W Barresi 15* (26b 2x4)   YK Pathan 3.3-1-9-0

13.4

Chawla to Szwarczynski, FOUR, lovely shot from Eric to bring up 50. Sunny Gavaskar says that was a fine late cut. It was fine in more senses than one. Flatter leggie from Piyush, lands outside off and breaks away. Eric waits and then deftly opens the face of the bat to send it scurrying down to third man. Tendulkar had no chance to stop that.

Netherlands 52/0   ES Szwarczynski 25* (36b 4x4)   PP Chawla 1.4-0-8-0

19.1

Chawla to Cooper, FOUR, sublime. Chawla is looking ti flight them, and entice the drive. No problems this time for Cooper, he leans out to the pitch and drives smoothly through the covers

Netherlands 68/2   TLW Cooper 9* (15b 1x4)   PP Chawla 4.1-0-16-1

25.5

Pathan to ten Doeschate, FOUR, RTD eases a boundary away. Yuvraj drops marginally short, RTD spots the indiscretion early, rocks back and punches it into the vast untenanted gap in covers for four.

Netherlands 90/2   RN ten Doeschate 10* (20b 1x4)   YK Pathan 4.5-1-15-0

26.3

Yuvraj Singh to Cooper, FOUR, lovely improvisation. Cooper decided early that he was going to play the reverse paddle, Yuvraj helped matters by dropping it full and outside off, Cooper slapped it on the bounce and send it wide of short third man. The ball gathered speed as it went. Harbhajan at short third man did not.

Netherlands 94/2   TLW Cooper 24* (39b 2x4)   Yuvraj Singh 4.3-1-14-1

34.5

Yuvraj Singh to Borren, FOUR, well-hit by Borren, and a rare boundary. He drops his front foot across and whacks a flighted ball, in the air over midwicket. The very definition of against the run of play.

Netherlands 112/6   PW Borren 4* (3b 1x4)   Yuvraj Singh 6.5-1-23-2

36.2

Yuvraj Singh to Kervezee, FOUR, Kervezee gets four, skipping out and to the leg side, taking him close to the pitch while also giving him the room to swing over the vacant long-on area.

Netherlands 119/6   AN Kervezee 8* (18b 1x4)   Yuvraj Singh 7.2-1-28-2

41.3

Yuvraj Singh to Borren, FOUR, Borren's just managed to get his lofted cover drive over the head of the man standing close in. Looped up on off, he jumped out and looked to carve him inside out. Got just enough bat to ensure he picked four

Netherlands 141/7   PW Borren 17* (25b 2x4)   Yuvraj Singh 8.3-1-37-2

41.6

Yuvraj Singh to Borren, FOUR, Borren's taken a liking to Yuvraj. Gets a fullish ball on the leg stump and responds with a whole-hearted swipe across the line. He timed the hit really well and got it away through midwicket.

Netherlands 147/7   PW Borren 23* (28b 3x4)   Yuvraj Singh 9-1-43-2

42.1

Chawla to Kruger, FOUR, friendly full toss from Chawla to begin the Powerplay, and Kruger gleefully dumps it through the covers after strutting out of the crease. It came at a nice hitting height too.

Netherlands 151/7   BP Kruger 8* (11b 1x4)   PP Chawla 9.1-0-34-2

43.6

Nehra to Mudassar Bukhari, FOUR, aha, bad luck now for Nehra. He delivers a smart offcutter, full on middle and leg stump, Bukhari can't pick it and plays all over it, and ends up getting a leading edge to third man for four

Netherlands 176/8   Mudassar Bukhari 12* (7b 1x4 1x6)   A Nehra 5-1-22-1
