ICC Cricket World Cup - 2nd semi final

India v Pakistan

India won by 29 runs

5.1

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, hits a good length from over the wicket and zips it across the right-hander, Tendulkar lets it go through to Kamran

5.2

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, Tendulkar moves a touch forward to cover for the angle across him and whips the ball towards square leg

5.3

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, 1 leg bye, pitches outside leg this time and allows Tendulkar to nudge the ball off his thigh towards fine leg

5.4

Wahab Riaz to Sehwag, no run, Wahab tests Sehwag with the short ball, Sehwag ducks again. The short ball got him out against Australia ...

5.5

Wahab Riaz to Sehwag, OUT, Taufel has given Sehwag out and he's asked for a review against the lbw decision immediately. He didn't even check with Tendulkar. Brilliant decision from Taufel. That ball pitched just in line with leg stump, short of a length, and skidded on to Sehwag, beating the batsman's attempted flick off the back foot. That ball didn't bounce as much as Sehwag thought it would. He was on his toes playing the shot. The only doubt was whether it pitched in line, it did. Pakistan are ecstatic.

V Sehwag lbw b Wahab Riaz 38 (32m 25b 9x4 0x6) SR: 152.00

5.6

Wahab Riaz to Gambhir, 1 run, Gambhir gets going by nudging one that angles into him towards the leg side

India 49/1   Wahab Riaz 1-0-1-1

7.1

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, FOUR, Tendulkar's bat is rather awesome. He just clipped a short of a length ball from outside off between the fielders at mid-on and midwicket. It didn't look like it had enough legs to reach the boundary but it grew plenty on the way there

7.2

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, played off the body towards square leg

7.3

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, Wahab beats Tendulkar with a 115kph slower ball. Tendulkar was through his pull and though he tried to adjust he couldn't prevent getting hit on the hip

7.4

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, played back to the bowler this time

7.5

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, FOUR, too full with width outside off, Tendulkar moves towards the ball, crouches on one knee and plays the perfect square drive through point

7.6

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, short of a length closer to off stump, Tendulkar moves towards the off, gets behind the line and plays towards cover

India 65/1   Wahab Riaz 2-0-9-1

9.1

Wahab Riaz to Gambhir, no run, short of a length ball angling into the left-hander from over the wicket, Gambhir cuts from his crease but can't beat point

9.2

Wahab Riaz to Gambhir, 1 run, Gambhir was trying to hit that squarer but fell over a touch and played the fuller ball angling into him towards fine leg

9.3

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, 4 leg byes, pitches outside leg again but this time Tendulkar doesn't get any bat on it. Pad will do for India though and Gul can't cut off the boundary at fine leg

9.4

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, defended on the off side off the back foot

9.5

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, good length ball on off and middle, defended on the front foot towards the off

9.6

India 73/1   Wahab Riaz 3-0-10-1

23.1

Wahab Riaz to Kohli, no run, in the corridor outside off and Virat is beaten, having a lame poke at it

23.2

Wahab Riaz to Kohli, no run, stays back to defend this length delivery back to the bowler

23.3

Wahab Riaz to Kohli, 1 run, short in length outside off, Virat punches it to sweeper cover

23.4

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, 1 run, The short ball angling across Tendulkar who steers it to third man. Not quite the hard upper cut- he opted for a horizontal steer this time

23.5

Wahab Riaz to Kohli, 1 run, gets this from outside off, from short of length and whipped through midwicket

23.6

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, beaten! It was the length delivery in the zone outside off, Tendulkar walked forward and tried to punch it on the up but it went sliding past the edge

India 136/2   Wahab Riaz 4-0-13-1

25.1

Wahab Riaz to Kohli, no run, going away from VIrat who reaches out to steer it to backward point.

25.2

Wahab Riaz to Kohli, OUT, Pakistan have taken a catch! Wahab strikes again! Caught at backward point. It landed on a length around off and angled away, Virat played a strange shot as if he was surprised by how it seamed away - Wahab hardly gets the ball to bend in - and had a weak waft at it. He just stabbed at it. Edge and pouched!

V Kohli c Umar Akmal b Wahab Riaz 9 (20m 21b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

25.3

Wahab Riaz to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, Crashing full swinging delivery! Sensational moment! Wahab, who was kept in this game instead of Shoaib, has done the job. What a little big moment. Pakistan huddle is on. It was full, it was pacy and it swung in beautifully past the hurried stab and crashed into the stumps. Clatter! It didn't land at all. He just took the pitch out of the equation

Yuvraj Singh b Wahab Riaz 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

25.4

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, no run, Almost! Kamran even throws in an appeal! Dhoni walked down the track and across towards off and sparred at it. The ball flashed past the edge

25.5

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, FOUR, Edged away Another one slanting across Dhoni who jabs it to thrid man boundary. What a over so far.

25.6

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, no run, lands around leg, moves in towards leg and middle, stabbed back to the bowler. "End of a magnificent over," says AThers and who can argue with that. Gem of an over.

India 145/4   Wahab Riaz 5-0-17-3

27.1

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, 1 run, stays back to punch it wide of backward point for a single

27.2

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, 3 runs, on the leg and middle line, Dhoni went back to punch it through wide mid-on region and they run hard to come back for the third run

27.3

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, Beaten again! Sachin Lucky Tendulkar! It was in the zone outside off and TEndulkar tries to open the bat-face and pokes at it.

27.4

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, no run, fuller and Tendulkar leans ever so gracefully forward and across to drive it to cover

27.5

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, 1 wide, tries to perhaps get this one back in and pushes it outside leg.

27.5

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, FOUR, Umar Gul is living a nightmare out there. It was glanced to him at fine-leg and what does he do? He slides an awkward slide and the ball rolls of his thigh to the boundary.

27.6

Wahab Riaz to Tendulkar, 1 run, leans forward and across to punch this to sweeper cover

India 160/4   Wahab Riaz 6-0-27-3

41.1

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, no run, gosh, an ugly jab bobbles into the covers, feet and hands going everywhere

41.2

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, 1 run, edged and dropped! Kamran it is, a thick edge flies to his right, hitting the fingers and bouncing out. That was a really tough chance, there's no slip in so he's got to go for it, he stretches into the dive ... but can't hold on!

41.3

Wahab Riaz to Raina, 1 run, back of a length and rising, Raina gets across to off and glances off the hip

41.4

Wahab Riaz to Dhoni, OUT, well, that's one way to take the faulty catching out of the equation! Dhoni is rapped on the pad as he shuffles to off, huge appeal and Taufel has given him out! Dhoni wants a review though ... but it's not going to help, three reds as it pitches and hits him in line, definitely hitting the stumps and that's gone. India's hopes of making a defendable total are beginning to evaporate here

MS Dhoni lbw b Wahab Riaz 25 (64m 42b 2x4 0x6) SR: 59.52

41.5

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, no run, on a length, seaming away, and tapped to point

41.6

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, no run, definite reverse swing from Riaz, snaking deceptively through the air at a good pace to zip past the outside edge of Harbhajan's bat

India 205/6   Wahab Riaz 7-0-29-4

43.1

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, 2 runs, swiped out into the deep on the leg side, and they're back for the second

43.2

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, 1 wide, Riaz loses his radar, sending this one down the leg side

43.2

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, no run, that's better, nicely straight this time to draw a defensive stroke from Harbhajan

43.3

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, 1 wide, Kamran saves runs! Again Riaz sends one down the leg side, this one went even further and was heading for four wides ... until Kamran leapt athletically to his left to stop it one-handed

43.3

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, 1 run, fuller, and outside off this time. Harbhajan steps forward and drives into the covers

43.4

Wahab Riaz to Raina, no run, edged and dropping short of Kamran! This one kept low, touched the edge and dropped a metre in front of the keeper ... who is perhaps a little deep with the ball keeping low fairly often now

43.5

Wahab Riaz to Raina, 1 run, Riaz attacks the stumps, with a hint of shape through the air, but Raina meets the ball with the full face of the blade to send it down to long-on

43.6

Wahab Riaz to Harbhajan Singh, no run, Riaz steams in from round the wicket to Bhajji, banging this one in fairly short. It spits up, going with the angle towards leg stump and strikes the batsman on the hip, looping towards short fine leg. Bhajji was looking for the paddle-pull but couldn't connect

India 213/6   Wahab Riaz 8-0-35-4

47.1

Wahab Riaz to Raina, 1 leg bye, ... and immediately validates the decision with a superb, swinging yorker! Raina manages to get something in the way of the ball, and they sprint through for a leg bye

47.2

Wahab Riaz to Khan, no run, hmm, interesting shot from Zaheer, he clears the left leg and then flings the bat out, apparently with his eyes shut. Doesn't get close to laying bat on ball

47.3

Wahab Riaz to Khan, 2 runs, well, same shot this time he manages to get bat on ball but that is a shocking effort! The ball loops up, and Zaheer is lucky to survive as it drops safely in the deep near cover. They're back for the second

47.4

Wahab Riaz to Khan, 1 wide, Riaz switches to round the wicket and attempts to fire in the yorker, but it's too far outside off

47.4

Wahab Riaz to Khan, no run, Zaheer is batting like a No. 11 out there, again he clears the left leg and swings the bat in hope. Past the outside edge. Well, no danger of the lbw at least!

47.5

Wahab Riaz to Khan, FOUR, this is comedic stuff! How has he hit that for four? Riaz fires one in full and fast, and it's a case of ball hitting bat, a leading edge loops over the infield and rolls to the wide third man boundary. Well, they're runs no matter how you get them

47.6

Wahab Riaz to Khan, no run, another ungainly swipe, Zaheer backing away to leg, and he hits nothing but fresh air. This is crazy batting

India 246/7   Wahab Riaz 9-0-42-4

49.1

Wahab Riaz to Khan, no run, predictably, Zaheer clears the left leg, shuts the eyes and swings ... nowhere near it. He just needs to lay bat on ball!

49.2

Wahab Riaz to Khan, OUT, gone! Caught behind, it was only a matter of time. Another enormous heave, this time he does lay bat on ball but it's a thin edge and safely pouched by Kamran. Five wickets for Wahab Riaz in a World Cup semi-final!

Z Khan c †Kamran Akmal b Wahab Riaz 9 (14m 10b 1x4 0x6) SR: 90.00

49.3

Wahab Riaz to Nehra, 1 run, Nehra does the right thing, just putting bat to ball and taking a single to gully

49.4

Wahab Riaz to Raina, 1 run, full, fast and swinging! Raina jams down on it to send the ball to long-on

49.5

Wahab Riaz to Nehra, OUT, Nehra's been watching too much of Zaheer! A big swing, nowhere near it ... but Raina calls him through for one! Kamran throws to Riaz, who runs back and takes the bails off, Nehra doesn't bother to dive, easily run out

A Nehra run out 1 (1m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

49.6

Wahab Riaz to Raina, 2 runs, powerfully drive to wide long-off, but Ajmal sprints across and slides, cutting the ball off just inside the boundary to keep them to two

India 260/9   Wahab Riaz 10-0-46-5
