Jan-Berrie Burger burst into the limelight during the 2003 World Cup by striking a brutal 85 from 86 deliveries in the group match against England. He was just 21 at the time and was the first Namibian to hit an ODI fifty, which remains the nation's highest score. Although the tournament was not a huge success for the African side, Burger came away with the reputation of a beefy hitter who could trouble any attack on his day.
