What you should bat at 4 dhoni. A player like you batting at 6 i dont understand. Raina should bat at 6.

I am happy, finally MSD woke up and realized that Raina deserves a chance at #4. I do not agree with people saying Raina is not #4 in ODI. He has been playing in ODI and T20 consistently for India. While people's criticism for his test spot can be taken, but he is really the #4 for ODI. In fact if it is was not for Kohli, who has a big record in ODI, he should be batting at #3. In T20, Raina, should be playing #3, ahead of Kohli. People do not realize that it is because of Dhoni, Raina became #6, since Dhoni thought there is no one else to finish the job. It can be argued, but Raina has done the job of finisher. Now Likes of Jadeja and any other all rounder along with Dhoni needs to finish the job. Also let us not jump up and down after one score of Yuvi. He is an asset with bat and ball, no questions, but he is on a come back and he is well served at #5. Pujara can come in to ODI when slots are there. I am still not convinced that Dhawan and Rohit are the proven openers. #For Raina

Why the hell in the world is Ishant sharma keeps getting chances? I didnt see a worse bowler than him playing in any team in the world even in zimbabwe. Why cant we blood in some new bowlers ? why mohit sharma is warming the bench?

Neither Yuvraj nor Raina are #4 batsmen. Actually apart from first 3 positions, there is no special significance attached to any # in ODI or T20. In test Match, batsmen play at numbered positions. E.G., I expect Pujara #3, Kohli #4 after the opener. Rest of the spots are up for grabs. Sheet anchors Dravid & Tendulkar occupied #3, #4 spots in the Tests but Tendulkar opened the ODI's. So Dhoni's argument of grooming #4 spot in ODI's is questionable. The real guys like Pujara & Kohli already exist at specialised positions in batting in Tests- Why not use the same guys in ODI's? You cannot convert a finisher like Raina or Yuvraj into a sheet anchor. Secondly the real reason Indians gave away 304 runs is Ishant & Vinay's disappointingly poor bowling. These 2 gave about 125 runs in 16 overs for just 2 wkts. The 4 Aussie pacemen gave about 150 runs in 38 overs capturing 8 wkts. There lies the answer for India's loss. Better Guys: Unadkat, Kulkarni, Nayar,Pandey, Mohit sharma, Shukla or ZAK.

Interesting perspective on the paucity of a number 4. With Ajinkya Rahane batting with the nous that he is, would it not make sense to have him open with Dhawan and have Rohit come in at no 4? Rohit has got so much better technique than Raina and far more to offer. Plus the added advantage is that it is easy to see Rohit as a Test batsman - which unfortunately is not the case with Suresh Raina. For sure, on the bouncies Australian tracks Rahane+Rohit would be superior to Rohit+Raina from an overall team strenght point of view

That's only problem with an Indian selectors they telling players if Dhoni will like u then u hav a permanent spot in an Indian team even u do nothing, like raina what he did in past but Dhoni's massage is clear Raina will play no 4 in world cup 2015 so raina has 2 more year secure in team India he didnt admit performance will be consider to secure a place

yuvraj should have come in no 4 itself.. so he gets sometime in middle.. y should dhoni think that yuvraj will not able to play worldcup 2015.. give yuvraj the confidence that he is senior player in worldcup and the match winner in both worldcup india won

Rohit and Dhawan are careless at the top. Vinay and Ishant are terrible bowlers because Ishant has no control and Vinay has a pace that batsman like. Hopefully the defeat will urge/spur Indian team on. Sometimes when you are in a winning streak it can make the team complacent.
