England in India ODI Series - 2nd ODI

India v England

India won by 8 wickets (with 80 balls remaining)

0.4

Kumar to Cook, OUT, gone! India strike early. Cook won't believe he's done that, it was short and wide but the England captain picked out backward point with a cut. Good catch above his head by Jadeja, early problems for the visitors

AN Cook c Jadeja b Kumar 0 (4m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

England 0/1   C Kieswetter 0* (0b)   P Kumar 0.4-0-0-1

1.5

Vinay Kumar to Kieswetter, OUT, and another! England in a mess, Kieswetter pushes hard outside off at a good-length delivery and sends a regulation outside edge towards the lone slip and it's neatly taken

C Kieswetter c Kohli b Vinay Kumar 0 (10m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

England 0/2   IJL Trott 0* (2b)   R Vinay Kumar 0.5-0-0-1

9.6

Vinay Kumar to Trott, OUT, breakthrough! Just as England were fighting back Trott feels outside off stump and gets a simple edge through to Dhoni. Nice line from Vinay, but slightly lazy from Trott after such a good start

IJL Trott c †Dhoni b Vinay Kumar 34 (43m 37b 7x4 0x6) SR: 91.89

England 48/3   KP Pietersen 9* (14b 1x4)   R Vinay Kumar 5-1-18-2

24.5

Ashwin to Bopara, OUT, gone! The partnership ends. Turns nicely from middle and leg to straighten on Bopara who hasn't got much of a stride in and Billy Bowden quickly raises the finger

RS Bopara lbw b Ashwin 36 (52m 50b 4x4 0x6) SR: 72.00

England 121/4   KP Pietersen 46* (53b 3x4 2x6)   R Ashwin 4.5-0-25-1

25.2

Yadav to Pietersen, OUT, huge wicket! Two quick strikes. How quickly the game can change. Pietersen drives at a wide delivery and gets a thin edge through to Dhoni who takes an excellent catch close to the ground. The umpires check with TV that it carried and it's fine

KP Pietersen c †Dhoni b Yadav 46 (93m 55b 3x4 2x6) SR: 83.63

England 121/5   JM Bairstow 0* (1b)   UT Yadav 2.2-0-15-1

41.4

Yadav to Patel, OUT, gone! Yadav's scattergun approach has proved effective. This one pitched short of a good length, Patel moving back to play it, but kept really low and struck him plumb in front. A promising stand is broken, and India move into the ascendancy once more

SR Patel lbw b Yadav 42 (64m 53b 2x4 2x6) SR: 79.24

England 207/6   JM Bairstow 34* (46b 3x4)   UT Yadav 5.4-0-34-2

42.6

Jadeja to Bairstow, OUT, caught at long off! Again Bairstow used his feet, but this time he went through with the stroke. He sliced under it just a little, however, and Kohli was the man waiting under the ball as it plummeted down short of the boundary. That's actually a really good catch, he wasn't far from the rope but judged it well. Good all-round cricketer, this Kohli ...

JM Bairstow c Kohli b Jadeja 35 (74m 49b 3x4 0x6) SR: 71.42

England 211/7   TT Bresnan 3* (5b)   RA Jadeja 6-0-32-1

45.1

Vinay Kumar to Swann, OUT, off stump cartwheels! Kumar has struck straight away, picking up his third wicket with a length delivery that kept just a shade low to beat Swann's attempted glide to third man, crashing into the top of off stump. England are in serious danger of being bowled out short of their 50 overs.

GP Swann b Vinay Kumar 7 (9m 7b 1x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

England 227/8   TT Bresnan 12* (11b 1x4)   R Vinay Kumar 7.1-1-25-3

45.6

Vinay Kumar to Bresnan, OUT, an easy catch for Raina! Bresnan tried to loft a full delivery down the ground but didn't come close to timing it, scooping the ball tamely towards deep mid-off, where an unflustered Raina leapt to pluck it out of the air. There goes another one!

TT Bresnan c Raina b Vinay Kumar 12 (20m 13b 1x4 0x6) SR: 92.30

England 229/9   ST Finn 1* (3b)   R Vinay Kumar 8-1-27-4

48.2

Yadav to Dernbach, 1 run, OUT, silly running! The ball was flicked to leg and there was certainly an easy single on offer. Dernbach certainly thought it was only one, he ran past the stumps at the non-striker's end, but Finn was set on a second run. A total communication breakdown, and even as Dernbach set off in the vain hope of reaching the striker's end before the ball, Finn was turning around with the same idea. Needless to say, Dernbach is easily run out and England are out for 237

JW Dernbach run out 3 (13m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 75.00

England 237/10   ST Finn 6* (13b)   UT Yadav 8.2-0-50-2
