  • England's total (192) is the second lowest total in a completed innings in ODI cricket that includes an individual hundred. England's total exceeded the alltime record by just one run. Damien Martyn had scored 116 not out in Australia's total of 191 against New Zealand at Auckland on 03-03-2000. Incidentally the lowest ever total (not necessarily the completed innings) to include an individual hundred is 159 for three by England in 45.3 overs with Dennis Amiss scoring 100 against New Zealand at Swansea on 18-07-1973.
  • Stewart became the fifth Englishman to score hundred in successive innings after David Gower, Graham Gooch, Nick Knight and Graeme Hick.
  • The catch of Nasser Hussain was the 100th dismissal for Ridley Jacobs. He became the second West Indian after Jeff Dujon and the 15th keeper in the world to reach this milestone. By taking 62nd matches for his century of dismissals, Jacobs became fastest to accomplish this feat. The previous record was held by South Africa's Mark Boucher with 67 matches (Australia's Adam Gilchrist also took 67 matches to complete his 100 victims behind the stumps but he had also appeared in five matches as a specialist batsman, thus making a total of 72 matches for his 100 dismissals).
  • The victory was West Indies' first away from home in the last 14 matches. West Indies' last win on foreign soil came against Sri Lanka at Sharjah on 13-10-1999.
  • The margin of 3 runs was the third narrowest for West Indies against England. It had beaten England by 2 runs at Melbourne on 20-01-1980 and by an identical margin at Kingstown on 04-02-1981.
  • Chris Gayle won his maiden Man of the Match award.
