11.55am The Indian team in a huddle. Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Hafeez walk out. Some banter between Sehwag and Jamshed in the middle, all good-natured though, both are smiling.
Two slips in place for Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Some added height to the sightscreen as the 7'1" Mohammad Irfan will bowl later in the day.
11.45am Arun: "The Indian team selection, over the past few years, has been as tough to decode as the D/L method. Overcast conditions, team needs a boost in the batting department and they go for Jadeja?!"
Yusuf: "Any thoughts on why Irfan Pathan was not picked considering the fact that the last ODI series he played, he got the Man of the Series..." Knee injury. He hasn't played since early November.
Rohit: "I hope Bhuvnesh does not repeat his T-20 career in ODI as well.. After Dream Debut, Nightmare in Second..." Not too long before we find out.
Gaurav: "A factor that Dhoni has probably considered in his selection is 4 fielders outside the circle. His thinking might be to have a bowling all-rounder bowl his full quota, rather than Raina, Sehwag, Kohli bowling 10 overs between them."
11.40am Rakesh: "@ Praveen, I called in sick with Migraine. Hope this game does not give me ONE!!"
Want to pit Dhoni against Kohli? Malinga and Misbah in the same team? Our mega-popular Fantasy Cricket game is now available as a Facebook app. Who's on your team?
Kishore Kakarla: "I think India should look beyond Jadeja and Rohit. They have been performing poorly since long. This toss up between Rohit (for strengthening batting) and Jadeja (for so-called allrounder) baffles me." You are not the only one Kishore.
A comment we should put up before every India game, it seems. Akshay: "What must Rahane do to get in the team?"
Dhoop Mittal: "Seriously Dhoni? Sir Jadeja for strengthening the bowling? India set for another "JA DEJA VU""
Arun: "The Indian team selection, over the past few years, has been as tough to decode as the D/L method. Overcast conditions, team needs a boost in the batting department and they go for Jadeja?!"
11.30am Dhoni spins it, 'Heads,' is the call, it is tails. India choose to bowl. MSD: "The wicket has been under covers, the conditions are overcast, so we want to exploit it. There is considerable amount of pressure after losing the first game, it is a do-or-die situation. Jadeja in for Rohit. We wanted to strengthen the bowling."
Misbah: "It's a good feeling to be one-up in a three-match series. In Chennai there was more moisture in the pitch, this one looks dry." Pakistan are unchanged.
11.20am The curator Prabhir Mukherjee and the pitch was the centre of attention the last time India played here, in the Test against England. Today's surface is expected to be a bit two-paced, and with the overcast conditions, the captain winning the toss will likely choose to chase. Wasim Akram says there should be some swing around for the quicks early on.
Will Rohit Sharma get another game despite a horrendous run in ODIs in 2012? Or will Ajinkya Rahane get a game? Or Ravindra Jadeja? Time for the toss.
11.00am India v Pakistan in one of the most iconic venues in the world. Bring it on. It rained a bit in the morning and the covers were on for a while but there have been no showers for the last couple of hours and the covers have been removed. Still overcast though.
Misbah-ul-Haq has spoken of how the team's nerves have eased as the series progressed while MS Dhoni has demanded better from his batsmen.
Pakistan are already 1-0 up, and a win today will hand them the series. Can't believe this contest is more than halfway through already. Pakistan also have a great ODI record at Eden Gardens, having won all three matches they have played against India here.
Praveen: "Another cracker of a match!!! Can't wait. hope it proves worth for my sick leave :)" Any others bunking work today?

3.30pm What a turnaround this has been in Kolkata. When Pakistan's openers were making a mockery of India's bowlers, 320 seemed a realistic target for them. Hafeez's aggressive innings ended when he attempted a wild swipe after which Pakistan's innings was sucked off its momentum. Even the hugely promising Jamshed, who went on to make his third successive century against India, started finding it difficult to score briskly. The much-maligned Ravindra Jadeja shone again in a comeback game, taking three important wickets, while Ishant Sharma had a rare good outing in limited-overs cricket. There is a bit of uneven bounce in the track, and 250 should be a competitive score, especially considering the quality of Pakistan's bowling. Join us at 4.10pm for what should be a gripping chase.
