He played for Queensland Second XI in 1989-90 and 1991-92 and was a member of the Queensland State squad in 1989-90 and 1990-91. In 1990 he spent the northern summer in England playing with Tonge in the Bolton League. In 1994-95 he moved to play with Wynnum-Manly and after the 1998-99 season returned to Mackay to accept a position as coach of Walkerston. In 1999-00 he played for, and captained, North Queensland and was a member of the Queensland Country team for the National Country Championships, batting consistently without recording a big score. He captained North Queensland in their two matches against Victoria Institute of Sport in September, but was surprisingly omitted from the North Queensland for the Country Cup match against South Queensland. He has now been selected for his second series of National Country Championships. He was educated at West Mackay State School and Mackay High School. He is engaged in business in Mackay as a financial planner. (Warwick Torrens, December 2000)
