Scorecard
Faiz Fazal and Ambati Rayudu set a scorching pace on the second day of the second Test at Eden Gardens, scoring the majority of the 190 runs India Under-19 scored in the 43 overs that were possible. Both batsmen average over 40 in first-class cricket, and the inexperienced bowling could not hold up to the pressure the two applied. India Under-19 were 337 for 5 at the end of the day.
Fazal fell short of his hundred by six runs, and hit 15 fours before Andrew Miller clean-bowled him. Rayudu was marginally more aggressive, taking 92 balls for his 86, which contained 14 fours and two sixes. On his departure, Manoj Tiwari ran up a quick 25. The quick losses of Fazal and Tiwari soured India's day slightly, but Gaurav Dhiman and Aditya Jain pulled things back for India, adding 53 runs in less than eight overs before bad light stopped play.
With two more days remaining, India were placed well to push on and win the second Test and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
