Praveen Kumar, the India fast bowler, expressed his disappointment at not being bought during the IPL auction, stating the tournament would have helped his chances of a comeback. The pace bowler last played for India in the Asia Cup in March 2012 but said he was aiming to play the 2015 World Cup.

Since his exclusion from the Indian team, Praveen has struggled with fitness and disciplinary issues. He couldn't play a full domestic first-class season in 2012-13 due to injury and his comeback was marred by a suspension, earned by an angry outburst against a player during a Corporate Trophy match in February 2013. He returned to play a few List A games and the 2013 IPL season but injuries kept him out of the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy. The bowler said he would go back to domestic cricket to try and fight his way back into the India side for the World Cup.

"Frankly, I didn't expect to go unsold. I have done well at all levels, be it IPL, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or international cricket," Praveen told Times of India. "It's just that my shoulder injury took a long time to heal.

"IPL is a great tournament and it would have given me the opportunity to make a comeback. I was disappointed, but I am prepared to work hard again. I reached this level by working hard and that's what I need to do again.

"I will go back to the domestic circuit, prove myself again and make a comeback. Last time I missed out playing the World Cup narrowly. There's still time left for the World Cup and I am keen to be a part of the squad."

Praveen, who was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2008 to 2010 before a move to Kings XI Punjab in 2011, said he had recovered fully from the shoulder injury he had suffered during last year's IPL.

"The shoulder is in good shape now. I don't have any pain and have been bowling well," he said. "People said I could have opted for surgery a bit earlier, but I followed the advice of the experts at the National Cricket Academy and got it done when they told me to go for it."

When asked if fitness concerns prompted franchises to avoid buying him, Praveen said he could only prove he was "still useful". "I don't know. Only they can answer," he said. "Getting selected in any team is not in my hand. What I can do is to work hard again and prove that I am still useful.

"I was keen to play Ranji Trophy this season. I have always enjoyed playing first-class cricket. It gives an opportunity to bowl long spells but unfortunately my surgery happened during the season."

RP Singh, P Kumar and Munaf Patel should be brought back immediately in the shorter format for India. Ishant Sharma should play only in Test matches. Zaheer Khan has become old and his fitness is not upto the mark for ODIs and T20. India is under assumption that only Batsmen can win matches for Indian team which is not true. Inorder to be at no. 1 in ODI and to be a champ in 2015 world cup, BCCI needs to hire a good Bowling coach and expose more bowlers to have a strong bowling attack as well. RP singh, P Kumar and Munaf patel have experience of playing 60 plus ODIS each and their experience of IPL and domestic can be used for the coming overseas tours so that they are prepared well for WC 2015. At present Bhuvi kumar and Shami Ahmed are pressurised with lack of experience since we lost all the last 8 ODIs in NewZealand. and south africa. Amit Mishra should be played in all the Asia cup and WC T20 matches.

Its a perfect chance to for Praveen Kumar, Munaf Patel and R.P Singh to play county championship in England at the time where our bowlers rot their basic skills while playing in the IPL. IPL is good fun, nobody can deny that but these guys have a good chance to stake their claim for the upcoming 5 test match series in England or at least get back proper match fitness and hopefully match their performance upto it.

Niice! P.K is fit & willing to make a comeback to Indian Side thourgh Domestic Cricket. He will be a useful bowler in South African Condition if he picked up by any franchise in this edition because he not pickeed-up so he can work on his fittnes & along side on this bowling with he can proved wrong those people who are thinking he's not fit enough to bowl. So good luck P.K for upcoming Domestic Cricket where U proove yourself.

PK will find no place in UP team. There are too many good fast bowlers in U team. Amit Mishra, Rajpoot, I. Aahmead too name few. Also Bhuvi is there. Next year there will be few more. RP Singh will have same fate. PK will have to work very very hard to get in UP team.

Too bad Praveen, you lost it totally when you shouldn't have. It's a bit late now I am afraid. India have moved on with other bowlers. I hate to say it but I cannot see you make it back to the Indian team. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do in life.

No doubt about Praveen Kumar's talent. He is the one who mentored B Kumar who is in the Indian team but right now P Kumar has to go back in domestic competition and prove that he still has the magic touch. I often get surprised or irritated with age based' comments and the treatment from selection board on some of the deserving players. Com'on you pick a team for the series and if someone is in form and can assure of performing in that series than that person should be given a chance irrespective of their age. Learning process should be done in your first class circle or at the national academy not at the international level. We have had enough of bowlers and batsman who were young/talented and been a part of team for years but still haven't learnt. We shouldn't be afraid of picking a form player at any age.

Contrary to what other people say, Praveen Kumar is a gutsy cricketer. Since he is coming back from injury he should prove himself in th domestic league. Nobody in the Indian team is safe - as the results show. Tking wickets will earn him a recall.
