The five-member working group formed by the BCCI to propose remedial action for ensuring smooth conduct of the IPL will submit its report during the BCCI's working committee meeting, to be held in Kolkata on August 28.
The notice of the meeting was emailed to all the working committee member units on Friday. Though the agenda of the first working committee meeting in four months has not yet been announced, a BCCI official said the meeting could discuss the working group report.
When the group was formed in July, it had been asked to report its recommendations to the governing council before being forwarded to the working committee. However, according to a working group member, the report may directly be submitted to the working committee.
A BCCI official admitted that it was not yet decided whether the governing council will meet before August 28. Irrespective of the meeting, the working committee is set to chalk the pathway for the induction of the two suspended IPL franchises - Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla has stressed on the participation of "at least eight teams" in the IPL, and earlier this week, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur had said the report would be ready well before the August 29 deadline.
