Ugra: 'Chennai Super Kings more equal than others'

The IPL corruption hearing being deferred in the Supreme Court is another indication that Chennai Super Kings enjoy a special status

There seems to a considerable gulf between the 'oh-well- this- is-the-way-things-are' acceptance by the likes of raghoo1 and the wariness and sharpness of Sharda Ugra, doing her job (as ever) in pointing out the glaring unfairness that is woven into the stained fabric of the IPL. To me, who has nothing more at heart in a sporting context than the good name of cricket, I am regularly appalled at the workings justice in the largest democracy on earth. Call me naive, but I do believe in equality before the law as being one of the defining hallmarks of a functioning democratic system. In UK some of our corrupt politicians do end up serving custodial sentences. And yes, some of those MPs are from the governing parties. The law has taken its course, undeflected by hidden coersion, bribery, etc. As for the Facebook contribution your 'baby' (the IPL) is well tarnished already, but there again, IPL is not designed to appeal to true cricket fans, so it probably doesn't matter, does it, raghoo1?

This is nothing new in life or in sports. Life is never fair and its a fact of life. Ferrari always had a special status at the FIA and CSKs scenario at the IPL is no different now. Three years down the line Mumbai might have its people heading BCCI or IPL and the MI might enjoy this special status - I wouldnt expect to see the Mumbai fans complaining about the unfairness at that time

Don't Worry much, lets leave it for the judge to decide. Lets not jump too much into speculation and tarnish our baby (IPL). We all know .. what IPL has given to us. There are larger issues than IPL in this country.
