A right-handed wicketkeeper batsman, Lokesh Rahul was part of the Bangalore Brigadiers (Urban) in the Karnataka Premier League. A technically correct batsman, he scored 276 runs at an average of 55.20 in five matches in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy in 2008-09. He and Rahul Dravid have a mutual admiration for each other and Dravid makes it a point to check on the youngster's progress. Rahul was named in the Under-19 squad for the 2010 World Cup in New Zealand.
