This is the first ball to move all morning, and it has beaten the inside edge by a long way. Hits him plumb in front, but no appeal is required for an lbw because the ball has ricocheted and flattened the off stump. Ordinary batting for an opener. 6/1 18.4 to RR Dave, the Kauls strike. c Uday Kaul b Siddarth Kaul. Length ball outside off, holds its line, takes the edge of a bat left hanging to dry outside off. Uday Kaul takes a nice low catch to his right. I know a few wicketkeepers who don't even go for these. 58/2 99.2 to SP Jackson, Kaul finally gets his man. But there is another reason why Makvana is slow to walk off. Sharp dip, turn and bounce, but it doesn't seem to have taken the edge. Goes off the keeper's glove to slip, and he is given. There is a sound, but his bat has hit his pad. There is hardly an appeal from the keeper and slip. 426/7 145.4 to JD Unadkat, Ladda gets another via a superb catch by Sandeep Sharma running back. Unadkat runs out of patience, and tries a slog sweep. Sandeep Sharma runs backwards from mid-on, gets under it, takes the catch, but falls back and seems to have hurt his neck or head. 444/8 153.4 to DA Jadeja, and Ladda walks off this time. Wonder why he didn't walk last ball. Tossed up outside off, looks to drive against the turn, gets a faint edge, and Kaul catches it on the second grab. Kotak not too sure with his dance down the wicket, and the ball dips on him, and all he manages is a lob back to Harbhajan. Slow, flighted, dipping, turning from a good length on off, hits the shoulder of the bat, and is taken well by Kaul. 123/5 47.6 to KR Makvana, Harbhajan on absolute fire here. Turn, bounce, dip. Suddenly a switch has been turned on. Where has this Bhajji been? Tossed up wide outside off, Mandeep goes to pad it away, but has misjudged the line and has stretched too far. The ball breaks in sharply, and squeezes under the knee bend, and hits the middle stumps. That's huge turn. 71/3 29.4 to R Inder Singh, Ravi Inder Singh runs out of patience, Joshi has heaps of it. Joshi keeps bowling on a length, keeps ripping it, finally RI jumps out of the crease, wants to hit over mid-off, the ball turns and hits the outside half and goes to cover. Saurashtra a wicket closer to the final. 82/4 31.5 to Amitoze Singh, what a ripper. Lovely catch. Can't say the same about the mindless shot. Amitzoe sweeps, a premeditated shot without getting close to the pitch of the ball. The ball turns and bounces from outside off, hits the top edge, flies towards square leg, and looks like it will fall safe until you see the tall Makvana sprint across from backward short leg. He goes about 15-20 metres before putting in a full-length sideways dive to pull off this stunner. 88/5 37.2 to Harbhajan Singh, Saurashtra need one more wicket. Big slog to a full ball outside off, misses by a week, and Joshi hits the stumps again. 102/9 39.6 to Sandeep Sharma, and Joshi does it in some style. Legbreak to finish it off.
