Mumbai Indians v Pune Warriors

Mumbai Indians won by 7 wickets (with 0 balls remaining)

Malinga to Ryder, FOUR, Ryder's got under him. Malinga sends down a slower ball at 126 kph, on a length, Ryder muscles it over mid on off the front foot. Not too well-hit, but good enough for the first six overs.

Pune Warriors 7/0   JD Ryder 7* (9b 1x4)   SL Malinga 0.3-0-4-0

Murtaza to Ryder, FOUR, Ryder's getting into his groove again. Tossed up bravely outside off, he gets half forward and thumps with disdain on the up. Emphatic hit over wide mid-off.

Pune Warriors 15/0   JD Ryder 11* (10b 2x4)   AG Murtaza 1.2-0-8-0

Patel to Mishra, FOUR, very very edgy from Pune. Mishra nicks one wide of slip and through to third man for four. Munaf once again lands it back of a length and gets it to nip away a touch.

Pune Warriors 23/4   MD Mishra 6* (2b 1x4)   MM Patel 1-0-6-2

Ahmed to Uthappa, FOUR, and suddenly, Uthappa believes he's facing a net bowler. Another quick ball, full from Nechim, searching for movement. What does Uthappa do? He leans half across and tees off in emphatic style. Nearly a six down the ground that.

Pune Warriors 33/4   RV Uthappa 5* (6b 1x4)   AN Ahmed 2-1-5-2

Pollard to Uthappa, FOUR, Uthappa welcomes Pollard to the field with a steer through point for four. Not a very good ball, slow, back of a length and very wide outside off. With third man standing inside. Uthappa calmly guides it through the boundary.

Pune Warriors 39/4   RV Uthappa 10* (11b 2x4)   KA Pollard 0.1-0-4-0

Murtaza to Mishra, FOUR, brave short, but Mishra pulls it off. He skips out before the ball is bowled, Murtaza doesn't see him and lands it on a length on middle. Mishra is not to the pitch of it, but it doesn't stop him from drag-mowing it across, wide of long on and one bounce, over the boundary.

Pune Warriors 52/4   MD Mishra 12* (9b 2x4)   AG Murtaza 2.2-0-13-0

Malinga to Uthappa, FOUR, smoked by Uthappa. Where does he find this confidence? He walks down the track, gets in position to drive a length ball and bangs it straight past Malinga for four. Brutal, but with a straight bat.

Pune Warriors 60/5   RV Uthappa 23* (18b 3x4 1x6)   SL Malinga 1.5-0-13-0

Ahmed to Kartik, FOUR, Nechim finds an extra yard now and again, much like Ajit Agarkar it takes the batsman by surprise. Kartik was late on the bouncer and ended up top-edging over the keeper's head

Pune Warriors 66/5   M Kartik 7* (7b 1x4)   AN Ahmed 2.3-1-11-2

Franklin to Uthappa, FOUR, poor ball, lands it at a friendly pace on Uthappa's pads as he moves across. Easy nudge backward of square leg for a four.

Pune Warriors 72/5   RV Uthappa 29* (23b 4x4 1x6)   JEC Franklin 0.1-0-4-0

Malinga to Uthappa, FOUR, boy, he's hammered that. Malinga gives him a foot of width outside off, Uthappa gets decisively across this time and thumps him on the up through the covers.

Pune Warriors 84/5   RV Uthappa 36* (29b 5x4 1x6)   SL Malinga 2.1-0-18-0

Franklin to Uthappa, FOUR, poor bowling and very good batting. Franklin doesn't land this, it is a full toss well outside off and Uthappa concentrates on beating backward point as he angles the face and guides this. Easy boundary, and an example of how not to bowl to your field.

Pune Warriors 97/6   RV Uthappa 45* (35b 6x4 1x6)   JEC Franklin 1.5-0-21-0

Franklin to Parnell, FOUR, he's latched onto this one. Should Franklin even be bowling? Length ball again, Parnell charges out and lofts it over mid-off for four more.

Pune Warriors 111/7   WD Parnell 9* (7b 1x4)   JEC Franklin 2.5-0-32-0

Malinga to Sharma, FOUR, he starts off with a near yorker outside off that Rahul Sharma stays back to, angles the blade and redirects through the covers. Expertly done.

Pune Warriors 115/8   R Sharma 12* (6b 1x4 1x6)   SL Malinga 3.1-0-25-1
