Indian Premier League - 25th match

Mumbai Indians v Chennai Super Kings

Mumbai Indians won by 8 runs

1.4

Bollinger to Tendulkar, FOUR, smashed. Bollinger gives Tendulkar width once too often, and it is only a matter of time before one of them is thumped through the covers. Tendulkar stays on the back foot and drills it through the line, beating all the fielders inside the circle.

Mumbai Indians 9/0   SR Tendulkar 4* (4b 1x4)   DE Bollinger 0.4-0-9-0

3.5

Bollinger to Sharma, FOUR, sublime shot. Full and wide outside off, and for once today a Mumbai batsman moves his feet Rohit gets the front foot across with authority and creams it through point.

Mumbai Indians 17/2   RG Sharma 4* (1b 1x4)   DE Bollinger 1.5-0-16-1

3.6

Bollinger to Sharma, FOUR, the previous shot was textbook, this one was imperious. Bollinger did not over-pitch this one, though it was still there for the drive. It was a gamble, since slip was waiting. Rohit got across and scythed the drive backward of point. The wrists came into play and it was just too elegant to watch.

Mumbai Indians 21/2   RG Sharma 8* (2b 2x4)   DE Bollinger 2-0-20-1

4.3

Morkel to Sharma, FOUR, that's Morkel's first poor ball today, and Rohit cashes in once again. Full and slanted into the pads, Rohit calmly gets inside the line and flicks through midwicket.

Mumbai Indians 26/2   RG Sharma 12* (4b 3x4)   JA Morkel 2.3-1-6-1

4.6

Morkel to Rayudu, FOUR, for a moment there, Newton was wondering if he should rework the law of gravity. Full and moving away again, Rayudu danced out and threw everything he had at it. He gets a thick outside edge and the ball flies at great pace wide of Hussey at slip. Hussey sees, takes off up and to the right, hangs in mid-air for a moment, thinks about it, puts his right hand behind even as the blur of a cricket ball flies past, and tries to grasp it, but this ball went past in a flash.

Mumbai Indians 31/2   AT Rayudu 8* (9b 1x4)   JA Morkel 3-1-11-1

6.1

Morkel to Rayudu, FOUR, Mumbai finally get a move on. Horrible ball this, slanting a mile down the leg side and Rayudu deserves credit for actually making contact with it as it slid down the leg side and good pace. Pulled with one hand through fine leg.

Mumbai Indians 44/2   AT Rayudu 13* (13b 2x4)   JA Morkel 3.1-1-15-1

7.2

Joginder Sharma to Rayudu, FOUR, Fifty up for Mumbai. Rayudu pulls away that innovative lap flick. He shuffles all the way across the stumps and is standing in Shiv Chanderpaul style by the time the ball comes. It is angling into the pads and he slaps it away to the left of fine leg.

Mumbai Indians 53/2   AT Rayudu 18* (17b 3x4)   Joginder Sharma 1.2-0-14-0

9.2

Randiv to Sharma, FOUR, too short, and Rohit is in too good form to let it go. It turns in from well outside off, but Rohit is in position for the cut early and focuses on eluding backward point.

Mumbai Indians 64/2   RG Sharma 31* (19b 4x4 1x6)   S Randiv 0.2-0-5-0

10.2

Ashwin to Rayudu, FOUR, Joginder muffs it in the outfield. Tossed up on a length around off and breaking in, Rayudu sweeps it hard, but Jogi at deep square leg moves slowly and comes down late to left it skid through

Mumbai Indians 71/2   AT Rayudu 25* (25b 4x4)   R Ashwin 1.2-0-7-0

11.5

Randiv to Sharma, FOUR, unlucky for Randiv, it was his version of the doosra again, doesn't turn away too much but holds its line. Rohit was beaten, but was good enough to adjust and open the face to steer it down to third man.

Mumbai Indians 82/3   RG Sharma 37* (24b 5x4 1x6)   S Randiv 1.5-0-16-1

11.6

Randiv to Sharma, FOUR, When Rohit bats like this, you really wonder why this man isn't a staple in the India line-up. Tossed up from round the wicket, just outside off, Rohit leans out languidly and tees off over extra cover. That was the one area on the off side with no protection. Supreme shot.

Mumbai Indians 86/3   RG Sharma 41* (25b 6x4 1x6)   S Randiv 2-0-20-1

14.4

Randiv to Symonds, FOUR, lovely shot, Symonds' muscles come into the pitcture. Full on leg stump again, he just crouches out to the pitch and mows it over the infield. Didn't do much at all, but the ball flew away in fear.

Mumbai Indians 107/3   A Symonds 11* (12b 1x4)   S Randiv 2.4-0-31-1

15.1

Joginder Sharma to Sharma, FOUR, is cannon fodder. Polite length ball outside off, Rohit gets to the line and murders it through the covers.

Mumbai Indians 111/3   RG Sharma 57* (33b 7x4 2x6)   Joginder Sharma 2.1-0-21-0

15.5

Joginder Sharma to Sharma, FOUR, intelligent batting this from Rohit. The field is set back on the off side, and inside the circle on the leg side. Rohit picks his spot and walks across the stumps. Jogi's pace is such a dawdle, it sits up on middle and Rohit pulls it over Morkel at square leg. He runs back and puts it a slide, but the ball wins.

Mumbai Indians 123/3   RG Sharma 62* (35b 8x4 2x6)   Joginder Sharma 2.5-0-33-0
