Indian Premier League, 43rd match: Chennai Super Kings v Rajasthan Royals at Chennai, May 4, 2011
Chennai Super Kings won by 8 wickets (with 8 balls remaining)
4 May 2011 - day/night match (20-over match)

Shane Watson and Rahul Dravid are at the pitch. Albie is ready to bowl and as Danny Morrison would say, "Here we go... "

Kishore suggests something to combat the head. "How about an indoor stadium to cope with the heat in Chennai?"

To continue the weather debate, Mike Haysman says that the thermometer shows that it is 38 degrees is the shade.

Dhoni: I'm not sweating because I am used to Chennai and I generally don't sweat much. I think Warney is very talented and he has a good bunch of players with him. A lot has been talked about captainship but if you don't have players who can execute the plans you look like a fool on the field.

Warne: We had a pretty ordinary week on the road. It's probably about 98% humidity as well. We expect it to be hot. It's nice to be able to play and be involved with such a good side.

Gowtham is one of many feedbackers who think Faf du Plessis should have played. "I think Chennai should have played Faf du Plessis in place of Suraj Randiv."

Anand makes an interesting observation about the line-ups. "Sons of three former Indian cricketers playing today - Binny, Doshi and Anirudha."

It's a scorcher of a day in Chennai apparently as Nishath tells us. "It is UNBELIEVABLY hot in Chennai. I feel sorry for the players!"

Harish says that perhaps Chennai should only get the later game. "An 8pm game at Chennai at this time of the year would make sense instead of a 4pm game. I'm from Chennai and trust me you don't want to be out in the sun. Its burning out there."

And just to throw a cat amongst the pigeons, Sathya says it's not so hot. "To be frank, the heat now here in chennai is not as hot as it would be..its just normal heat..come the next 2 or 3 weeks Heat will be very heavy..Today is a Normal Chennai afternoon."

But Siddharth agrees that is warm. "I agree with Harish..I have played tennis matches at around this time in Chennai..and I used to pour a litre of water on my head to keep things cool..but by the time i got back to the court, my hair was bone dry!"

15:30 Toss Shane Warne has won the toss and Rajasthan will bat.

Warne says that the pitch is tired and is likely to get quite slow later on. Rajasthan have brough in left-arm spinner Nayan Doshi. Amit Singh sits out. So the Royals have gone with a spinner in place of a seamer and have four tweakers in their attack for today.

Chennai are unchanged for the match.

It's very close to Stephen Fleming's wish of 148. Chennai pulled it back superbly in the second half of the innings. Rajasthan were set for 180 plus after they reached the halfway mark at 86 without loss. Superb effort from Jakati and the two seamers. Let's not forget Dravid's innings, which set Rajasthan up and was beautifully paced.

Lance Martis comments on Fleming's predictions, "Should have booked a lottery ticket today, might have won that as well...."

Jakati: We are very pleased, it is quality stuff, we fielded well, we bowled well. We always knew that if we get one or two quick wickets, we could slow down the run rate. (On his caught and bowled) I just saw it and it stuck in my hands. The wicket is looking really good and it's coming nicely on the bat. If we get a good start, we should be ok.
