Indian Premier League, 67th match: Kings XI Punjab v Deccan Chargers at Dharamsala, May 21, 2011
Deccan Chargers won by 82 runs
21 May 2011 - day/night match (20-over match)

hi there. Welcome to Punjab v Deccan.

From the preview by Nitin. "The task ahead of Kings XI Punjab is simple: beat Deccan Chargers by as big a margin as possible on Saturday. Mumbai Indians' sorry show against Rajasthan Royals has brightened Punjab's prospects, and provided them with windows of opportunity at both ends of the Net Run-Rate curve. Punjab are already ahead of Mumbai on NRR, and if they win by a big enough margin, they will leapfrog Kolkata as well, reducing the final league game into a shoot-out. If, on the other hand, Punjab win by a small margin, they will remain behind Kolkata on NRR, and will want Mumbai to either lose, or win by a margin huge enough to pull Kolkata to fifth on the table. All these permutations, however, will count for nought if Punjab lose against Deccan."

Dale Steyn was on air just now and he let us know that he went to a 'fish foot spa' in Dharamsala. Have you guys been to one? Fish foot spa. Hmmm... Why not just eat them?

Adam Gilchrist: The last game was a good day for us. We have to produce it again today. It wasn't too much a break. Three days was perfect; just enough time to relax, freshen-up and get ready. It's quite a simple equation: We are just focused on winning the game here. The crowd have inherited as a home team here and given us a good support. The track has a brown sandy-coloured grass.

Cameron White: "The story of the season : been up and down. We have to combine both skills- Lehmann was saying when we have batted well, we haven't bowled well. It's nice to get a game. Unfortunately Kumar had to go to England. Dale Steyn is being looking forward to play here and he will be a big weapon for us."

Toss: Adam Gilchirst won the toss and chose to bowl. "Tactically this is the way we think we can win this game. Two changes"

White:" we would have batted first anyway. Unfortunately Ishant is not playing for us. And Kumar obviously. Two changes. "

Praveen Kumar: Its been going well. Elbow fit. No problem. We are playing as a unit; we are applying what we have been talking in the team meeting." Asked about Gayle: "I was just bowling to my strengths and right areas. That's all. Rest is upto the batsman; If he hits, he hits. Gilchrist is a good motivator; he makes the boys have fun and enjoy their game. This is of course a very imp match. We have to win. There is no other choice!"

Join us in a while for the start of the game. The final playing XI will be up soon on top of this page.
