Indian Premier League, 4th match: Rajasthan Royals v Kings XI Punjab at Jaipur, Apr 6, 2012
Rajasthan Royals won by 31 runs
6 April 2012 - night match (20-over match)

Welcome to the fourth match of IPL 2012. It is going to be the battle of mentors. Rajasthan Royals v Kings XI Punjab. It's Toss time at the Sawai Mansingh stadium here in Jaipur. Gilchrist has called heads and it has come down heads. Adam Gilchrist has decided to field first.

Adam Gilchrist reckons that the pitch isnt gonna change its character through the length of the match and feels that fielding is a better choice after having won the toss

Rahul Dravid remarked that he would have fielded as well had he won the toss. He also plays down losing the toss by saying that as long as the team plays well, winning and losing the toss would not matter much.

Prior to the toss, Rahul Dravid also mentioned Ashok Menaria, Ankit Chavan, Ajinkya Rahane and Kevon Cooper as the stars to watch out for this tournament.

Adam Gilchrist played down the mentor role by saying that he would be part of the management. Gilchrist is as humble as ever!!

Teams are as listed above.

Match is about to get underway. Gilchrist is marshalling his troops onto the field. Dravid and Rahane will open with for Rajasthan Royals.

16.6

Chawla to Rahane, 4 leg byes, this is cruel but that is how it is sometimes! Rahane was beaten and there was a semblance of an appeal as well, but the ball hit the pads and scrolls down through the third-man region for a four. Leg-byes

19.6

Faulkner to Cooper, 1 run, full-toss and it is drilled back to long-off, only a single for the batsman and with that Rajasthan have ended on 191/4, which is a superb effort on a very good batting track.

Excellent batting from Rahane, who showed considerable class in getting to his 98. Shame he did not get to his 100. On the contrary, shoddy display of bowling from Punjab, especially from Praveen Kumar.

Back in 10 minutes with the chase.
