Indian Premier League - 48th match

Kings XI Punjab v Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals won by 43 runs

Dravid and Rahane to open as usual for Royals. Their partnership has been awesome so far. Praveen Kumar with the new ball from over the wicket, he swung it around corners in Bangalore.

Toss, 7.30 pm News coming in, while we wait for Kolkata-Pune to finish, that Rahul Dravid has won the toss and Rajasthan Royals are batting. David Hussey was at the toss for Kings XI, so Adam Gilchrist's hamstrings are presumably still not ready for Twenty20 cricket. "He's been running around, hitting balls, I don't think he's too far away," Hussey said. He always says that.

Team news as soon as we have it.

Royals have left out Owais Shah, Brad Hogg and Shreevats Goswami. They've brought in the wild thing, Shaun Tait, Johan Botha and Dishant Yagnik, who will keep wicket. So their bowling is significantly stronger, provided the right Tait turns up.

Just the one change for Kings XI - Paras Dogra is out and Gurkeerat Singh makes his debut.

7.20 pm Good evening and welcome to our ball-by-ball coverage of Saturday's second game, between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in Mohali. I dare say Kings XI will have more home support than Kolkata Knight Riders did earlier today.

A win for Kings XI today will take them past Chennai Super Kings and into the top four. Royals are presently seventh and will displace Kings XI from fifth if they win.

Rajasthan have got a decent 177/6 in their 20, which will test the opposition. Shane Watson and Rahul Dravid got them off to a good start but there was a middle-order stutter. Fortunately for them, the pair of Hodge and Botha carried them through with a 43-run stand in less than four overs. Still it is a good batting pitch and we will see how Punjab go in the second innings.

Watson: Beautiful wicket to bat on, it has got some pace and bounce, we have Tait in our line-up. Unfortunately wasn't able to capitalise on my start. We were looking at 180, hope my bowling comes good too.
