Indian Premier League - 66th match

Kings XI Punjab v Chennai Super Kings

Kings XI Punjab won by 6 wickets (with 21 balls remaining)

Couple of minutes away from the start, Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey are at the crease for the Super Kings and the new ball will be taken by Praveen Kumar.

David Hussey, in an interview with the host broadcaster, says that the Morkel brothers are the best on show this season - Hussey and Pathan brothers being the others.

3.30 pm, Toss: Adam Gilchrist is back and is at the toss. Cooler climate and MS Dhoni says despite the extra travel, it is a fantastic place to play cricket.

Dhoni calls heads but it lands tails. Gilchrist says he wants to bowl first because of the grass on the track. Dhoni says he wanted to bowl first too, but not too dissatisfied with the decision. Bit of grass on the pitch.

Yo Mahesh and Albie Morkel are back and Faf du Plessis and Shadab Jakati miss out for Chennai. Ryan Harris and Gilchrist are back for Punjab, Shaun Marsh and David Miller are out of the 11.

3.25 pm A look at the points table makes for an interesting read. A loss for Chennai Super Kings will make things difficult for them, but they still have an outside chance of making it to the playoffs. If Punjab lose, they are out.

Hello and welcome to the first of two games to be played today, Kings XI Punjab will host Chennai Super Kings at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Suneer Chowdhary here and will take you through this and the second game of the day between Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Incidentally this is 66th game of the tournament, which tells me that the playoffs are not too far away, seven more games and we are there. Also called the business end of the tournament.

Harris to Anirudha, 1 run, short ball to the new batsman, went for the pull, gets a bit of an inside edge to the left of short fine-leg

19.5

Harris to Bravo, OUT, outside edge and Gilly has taken his fourth catch! Slanting into the batsman, gave himself room, went for a heave, outside edge through to the wicket-keeper, ending a superb knock of 48 from Bravo

DJ Bravo c †Gilchrist b Harris 48 (59m 43b 2x4 3x6) SR: 111.62

Ashwin's the new man at nine.

19.6

Harris to Ashwin, 1 bye, swings his bat hard, misses and they are able to run a bye to end on 120/7 in 20 overs

34 was the biggest stand in the innings and that was between Bravo and Morkel. After Bravo's 43-ball 48, Suresh Raina's 17 was the best score, a lot of it to do with the nature of the track. The pace bowlers got a lot of movement there and most batsmen were on the back foot, literally and figuratively, most of the time. Awana and PK bowled well, both scalped two wickets and conceded only 12 and 18 respectively.

121 will be an interesting chase here given that Super Kings know they have to win here or face early exit.

S Anirudha    1* (1b)      Azhar Mahmood    4-0-28-2
