Indian Premier League - 67th match

Delhi Daredevils v Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 21 runs

So the Delhi side is out in the middle, Unmukt Chand is one many are looking forward to seeing. Andre Russell is in the side too, in place of Morne Morkel, who has been rested. Chris Gayle and T Dilshan to open the innings.

Irfan Pathan has the ball in his hands. Wide slip in place.

Toss 7.30 pm Mahela Jayawardene is leading Delhi Daredevils today, so Virender Sehwag is not playing. Sehwag isn't fit. Jayawardene's won the toss and Delhi will bowl first. Kohli said he would have bowled as well.

Royal Challengers have brought in Prashanth Parameshwaram for KP Appanna.

Unmukt Chand has replaced Sehwag for this game. Morne Morkel has also been rested, since Daredevils are already through to the playoffs, and Andre Russell gets a game.

So Daredevils are significantly weaker today, some of the other sides will not be pleased by that, but Royal Challengers will be smiling.

7.20 pm Good evening and welcome to our ball-by-ball coverage of the game between Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Kotla. Chennai Super Kings have just lost to Kings XI Punjab in Dharamsala, which is better news for Royal Challengers. They can finish ahead of both Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals provided they win their remaining games. A defeat for Royal Challengers, today, however will give Kings XI and Royals a real chance. Daredevils and Knight Riders are definitely through.

Here's our points table, it will explain things better.

13.4

Pathan to Gayle, no run, round the wicket, on his pads, tries to flick it away, but hits the pads

13.5

13.6

Pathan to Gayle, SIX, shorter again and it goes the same way that the previous one had, over deep square-leg for a six! This is sensational batting from Gayle, but haven't we come to expect that from him!

19.6

Aaron to Kohli, no run, outside the off stump, pitched right up to the bat and missed by Kohli, that ends the Bangalore innings on 215/1!

That was an onslaught in the second half. 79 off the first 10, 136 in the next 10. Gayle says he is under a lot of pressure which is bringing out the best of him and that he is happy to get the opportunity to score. I would like to be under such pressure as well. That was some crazy hitting, no despite the obvious tilt towards the batsmen in this format, there aren't many who can do what Gayle did tonight. Kohli played well, started off decently after the early loss and then rotated the strike around for Gayle to take advantage.

Delhi's morale will be hit, if not shattered but they will take heart from the hitting, the track's a good one after all. Back in 10 minutes after the break.
