CSK juggernaut bearing down upon Warriors

Match facts

April 30, 2013
Start time 2000 (1430 GMT)

Big Picture

Pune Warriors are at the bottom of the points table. Chennai Super Kings are at the top after nine games. Warriors have lost their last four matches, Super Kings have five wins in a row. On current form, this is possibly the biggest mismatch in the IPL. But then, the previous time Super Kings lost in this tournament was when they played Warriors. That upset came at Chepauk, and the game wasn't even close, Warriors winning by 24 runs.

Since then, Super Kings have been unstoppable. They have won even when it seemed like they wouldn't; their strategy of accelerating a chase late has often appeared a folly, only for someone to deliver and take them over the line. At Eden Gardens it was Ravindra Jadeja; against Rajasthan Royals, Dwayne Bravo got a six away with 10 needed off 4; and then there was an MS Dhoni special against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

For Warriors, it has been just the opposite. Time and again they've looked to be in control of the game, only to end up losing. Chasing 120 against Sunrisers, they went from 101 for 4 to 108 all out; they were not able to defend 185 against Kings XI Punjab, and on Sunday they just could not get the big hits away against Daredevils, finishing 15 short in a chase of 165 despite being only four down. They have four points from nine games, and while the permutations are not firmed up as yet, it seems likely that Warriors will have to win all their remaining seven games and hope for other results to go in their favour to progress to the playoffs.

In the spotlight

For Chennai Super Kings, the fourth overseas player slot has been like a game of musical chairs. Dirk Nannes, Ben Laughlin, Jason Holder and Albie Morkel have all come in, gone out and then, in some cases, come right back in again. It appears Super Kings, in sticking to type, would prefer to play allrounder Ablie but he has been having fitness issues. Which of the overseas quicks will play in Pune? That's anyone's guess. Once Faf du Plessis is fit, provided the team doesn't run into a bad patch of form, they might also be tempted to allow Michael Hussey a bit of a rest and give themselves the extra overseas batting option, should they need it going into the business end of the tournament.

Pune Warriors' death bowling has been the worst among all teams in the tournament. Their economy rate at the death (overs 16 to 20) so far this season is 11.17, almost two runs more expensive than the second team on the list, Kolkata Knight Riders. Death bowling has been something Warriors have been focusing on improving. After the IPL auction in February coach Allan Donald had said they aggressively pursued Australian quick Kane Richardson and paid big bucks for him - he was the third most expensive buy at US$700,000 - specifically because of his "exciting death-bowling skills". Richardson played his first game against Delhi Daredevils on Sunday and, after conceding 17 runs in three overs, produced length balls in the 19th to be dispatched for three sixes. Might have just been the nerves of an IPL debut, but given Warriors position on the points table are they out of time to find a viable solution?

Stats and Trivia

  • Robin Uthappa and Aaron Finch have four half-century opening stands in seven innings this season, the most by any pair
  • During his innings against Knight Riders, Suresh Raina became only the second player to tally 100 sixes in the IPL, behind Chris Gayle

Quotes

"The way he has played against different teams has been quite dynamic. I cannot speak more highly of Hussey, on the influence he has and the way he conducts himself. He leads by example, not only the runs he scores but the way he trains and conducts himself."
Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming on Michael Hussey

"Cricket is a funny game, especially T20, where even a single over can change the game. So we've learnt that until it's over, don't raise your hopes."
Pune Warriors seamer Ashok Dinda after his team lost from a comfortable position against Delhi Daredevils

This winning-in-last-over criticism is, I think, unfounded. It's not a flaw; it's deliberate, by design. CSK play that way--they don't unnecessarily accelerate (like the unfortunate King XI) did unless they absolutely need. Remember the 180 chase against Punjab? How perfectly paced was that?

140-160 is a dicey score in the IPL. You don't know how you'd want to approach something like that, so it's safer to keep wickets in hand and launch a late assault. And, well, it's been working for them so far.

I don't think CSK's bowling is that poor either. It's certainly not the best in the IPL (which, perhaps, is Kolkata or Mumbai) but not the worst. Ashwin, Nannes, Morris, et al. are very decent bowlers and Jadeja, Bravo, Mohit can provide decent support. It's not an intimidating line-up but they get the job done. :)

the way CSK is bowling they need support from spinners, someone to support ashwin, and as jadeja is not able, i think shadab who has done good for chennai in previous seasons should get a chance in place of jadeja...

    My team for today 1. Hussey,2. Saha, 3. Raina, 4. Badrinath, 5. Dhoni, 6. Bravo, 7. Morris, 8. Ashwin, 9. Shadab, 10. Nannes, 11. Mohit..

This is bull shit, leaving yuvi after successfully bowling 1 or 2 overs..he is a thinking bowler he dont create much turn but reads the batsman so well. He should bowl his quota of 4 overs, add to that never give ball to smith or wright that can make for huge voids in the field. I hope pune thrash csk..

  • on April 30, 2013, 12:33 GMT

Badrinath should open up the innings with Hussey. Saha is a good finisher and can come at no 5/no.6. Nannes was a touch expensive in the last game & should be replaced with either Laughlin/Holder. The spin twins of Ashwin & Jadeja have been economical, but their wicket tally is down which is a worry for CSK. Ashwin should be rested for a couple of games after a long season and Jakati should get a game. As for PWI, they need to send Smith up the order & drop Dinda & get in the side someone like Pervez Rasool, who was really good against Australia.

You have to feel for Pune. It doesn't matter who they choose, the player doesn't perform. Ross Taylor has been out of form for the last couple of IPLs, Matthews seemed to have trouble with the pressure of skippering the team and Wright has only shown stuff in one match. None of their domestic big names have played a dominating innings, not Yuvraj, not Robin and none of the international players apart from Finch have either. The team is in a mess and that quote from Dinda says it all, they do not expect to win.

With PWI playing with so many liabilities there is very little hope for them Dinda - Most expensive of the bowlers Rahul sharma - average bowling but worst fielding and no batting skills at all Mithun manhas - Real questions to fans why is he even in the playing 11

And more importantly PWI is rapidly loosing support from Pune people as there is not even a "SINGLE" pune player who plays for "PUNE warriors india"....:( Sad but true

  • Flat_Pitch_Bully on April 30, 2013, 11:27 GMT

Numbers and stats can be misleading - as proven time and again (pl refer "The confectionary Stall - there is a god one about how Agarkar - statistically is a better bat than Sacihn !!) - and this 4 - 50 Run partnerships that Pune have had at the top are one of those misleading stats... Robin Uthappa is a pale shadow of his former self.. he seems to be lacking the confidence to attack the bowler (any bowler) and seems to be playing extremely inhibited cricket... or is it only me who thinks that?? Where is the Uthappa who would tear into a bowler, shimmy down the pitch to fast ones and generally be an aggressive bat?? Opening an innnings seems to mean play cautiously to him... well its clearly not working. So either ask him to go out and play some agressive cricket or ask him to bat lower and play the end overs.. either ways, his former self needs to be back and not this imposter...

  • womenlovecricket on April 30, 2013, 11:15 GMT

I want the same CSK team as the one that defeated KKR on Sunday but with one change. I want Baba Abarajith instead of Badrinath as Baba is also very good with both the ball and batting. I would have loved to see Faf and Albie but they are still not completely well.. I hope CSK win this game and get further and further away from the other teams on the points table. As long as CSK dont underestimate a team like Pune who dont have anything to lose - CSK might be able to win this.

  • ladycricfan on April 30, 2013, 11:14 GMT

Suresh Raina played in all 9 matches and only hit 3 sixes. Few times he was caught at the boundary. May be he should take some energy booster drinks before the matches.

There is one thing gone unnoticed - CSK have lost only 2 games and both have been at home. After all the buzz around abt Home-condition tuff to beat for some teams,Chennai is having a clean record outside.'BEWARE'For the 2 loses In the fortress, maybe wake up call for Chennai but still No matter what chennai is a big threat at their home .I think maybe the play-offs being shifted might End up in CSKs hand.Anyway Hope it will be a close match Would love to see Uthappa Firing today.

  • himanshu.team on April 30, 2013, 10:36 GMT

I am quite surprised (if not shocked) to know that they chased Kane Richardson for his bowling at the death. As it turns out, their own Luke Wright is a very good bowler. Plus the likes of Kevin Cooper James Faulkner (except for his last over) have done much better and were already known for their death bowling skills. They should have rather gone for someone with fewer skills but more brain in such situations. Death bowling in T-20, is very different from death bowling on ODIs. Even some of the srilankan bowlers are very good with the yorkers and slower balls and would have been better choice. For e.g. Kulashekhara is good both with the new as well as old ball and bats decent enough. Clearly, Pune have not played very smart at the auctions, and are not playing very smartly on the ground.

  • Tal_Botvinnik on April 30, 2013, 10:35 GMT

Hope this overrated Parveez Rasool can trouble this CSK lineup if he gets a game.Given the no of lefties he must play. Pune track is slow. Bowlers like Mathews,Rasool, sharma might enjoy it while kumar, dinda would find hard.

  • gundapps on April 30, 2013, 10:01 GMT

Accepted that results show Dhoni to be a good captain. But it does boggle one's mind that Nannes (who is know to go for many at the death) was given a 4th over and Morris (best for CSK at the death) had an over in hand in teir last match. CSK, to improve the side's balance, should bring in Baba Aparajit in place of Badrinath.

  • aries_d on April 30, 2013, 9:57 GMT

CSK lost against Pune last time they played in Chennai. Its highly not possible for any good team to lose twice to the same team, esp when the opp team is not doing good. So I think it will CSK today, but Pune will give a fight.

  • Thyagu5432 on April 30, 2013, 9:39 GMT

Nannes is proving to be a bucket-full (of runs) for the opponents. Either he goes through a crash course on fast bowling or get dropped. Bring in Faf in place of Nannes and we can have Raina/Jadeja to be the 5th bowling option. Badri has also been pretty ordinary this season and so if Vijay is ready to get back into the team, he can replace Badri. We will have Saha, Faf and even Vijay apart from the regulars (Huss, Raina, MSD) all hungry for runs and PWI can be blown away with just the bat.

  • Shaan99 on April 30, 2013, 9:27 GMT

Now Pune Warriors has nothing to loose.. So it will be better for them to give some chance to their youngster.. Who are always very keen to give their best performance.. And they will also to destroy others team winning momentum who are looking for a playoffs... I think in today's match they will perform really better and according to my cricket knowledge tonight they will surely defeat Superkings who eyes is to qualify for playoff... But i really think that Pune will come strongly today as in the last match they have very balance bowling lineup as compared to RCB's match.. And as we all know that their batting is strong as compared to CSK's bowling lineup.. So in today's game my favourite is PUNE and what about yours?

  • Pavinasen on April 30, 2013, 9:18 GMT

Don't you think CSK creates a lot of suspense drama. With the number of occurances this is no more a suspense. This is the most balanced side & each player knows their role,if one falls the other gives a helping hand .This is the element of surprise that off sets oppisition teams in their planning since no player is predictable. The team is doing well ,however I want to see the other players being given a chance as CSK can now afford to experiment with players & eventually pick the best team for the playoffs.

Its no surprise that they come up tops in the IPL games, their captian MSD led India to limited overs WCC,IPL champs twice,CL champs,T20 WCC,no 1 test team & no 1 limited overs team.

  • Spin_Bully on April 30, 2013, 9:16 GMT

@Nakul Jain, how about 1999 wc victory for Australia. Had Gibbs did not put the catch of Steve Waugh. You need not to have everything in plan. On that situation how you react is going to decide your fate. On Paper, every IPL team is strong and they have strategy to handle every team. Luck is crucial too, however Luck favours only the brave. And who handles the situation better and pushes hard will be the winner with that bit of luck.

You got to be kidding to left a all rounder like Angelo mathews from your T20 team. He was an automatic pick for the every game when he was in the KKR team because of his great all round ability. I admit that he's out of form of his batting but what about his bowling ? his economy for this season is only 7.06. Can some one tell me is this bad or not please ? He's the 3rd best in the World who can bowl the good slow bouncer. Other two are Malina and Bresnan.

Also pune needs a batsman like dhoni who can bat under pressure. Remember only mathews can do such a thing for pune and he proved it many times in past too. If he regains his batting form that will be an extra bonus for the Warriors other than his economical bowling. So any doubts still ?

  • Rathan-S on April 30, 2013, 8:41 GMT

Die-hard MSD/CSK fan though, I wish Pune to win this match, Lads in PW should get a boost atleast. Uthappa, BK & AD are the players to watch. More particularly like I said before Angie should captain the team, if and only if Angie is not comfortable, Gods sake, let Rossie take charge, Finch is not a captaincy material as he is only good for power hitting, let alone be that his responsibility. Let smithie and Yuvi be in the middle order and Wright one down as he is too nervous in the slog. See the difference.

Special note to Allan Donald... though I used to hate seeing you as a bolwer bowling against India, now being the same side, pls do nurture the skills of BK and AD...Thanks:) P

There are no factors in IPL to disincentivise finishing last or second last , like a relegation, a pay cut or monetary penalty, except moral responsibility..

This really takes out the bite from the last couple of games, which are crucial for top 4 challengers, where the bottom teams don't pose a serious challenge making it one sided..

Hope they do something about this.

@usernames (featured comment): everything seems to be right as long as team is winning, do you think RP bowling no ball was CSK design plan, do you think White handing ball to Ashish reddy a strategy in CSKs game plan? c'mon man the team is winning by hook & crook with luck playing a part, there isn't any game plan, Hussey provides them a solid start and then they build upon that, the two games which they have lost were where Hussey didn't score or didn't play.

You can always write/deduce/ do PhD why a team is winning as long as they win, T20 is short unpredictable format and there aren't any designs and simulations.

  • imsaiarasan23 on April 30, 2013, 7:18 GMT

CSK has already corrected one of the only 2 major flaws they had.. One is M.Vijay.. The second major flaw is the fast bowling.. .. I think its time to bring Hilfenhaus in.. Once faf is fit they can remove a fast bowler, replace Badri for Jakati..

  • Sukruti on April 30, 2013, 7:01 GMT

CSK, points wise is very comfortable. But theys hould win thei games convincingly. They shoould do all the hard work until 16 overs. And not leave more than 7-8/ over in the last four overs, with atleast 5 wickets in hand. Then it becomes practical. Otherwise, 12-14 rpo in the last overs is adding lot of unnecessary pressure and might lose sometimes.

  • INSAS - Eleven on April 30, 2013, 6:40 GMT

CSK shouldn't take this lightly as they being at the top of the table is at stake. This could be a game changer. A loss here would give the rest of the contenders to fight for the TOP 4. I feel this is going to be a good match. I give a vote up for PWI. So for Yuvraj hasn't fired. Could this be the game. Can the Mighty stand up at the times of adversity. Lets C. Good Luck to both the Teams. This certainly is not easy for the " juggernaut CSK" ...who knows after all its T20.. :)

  • Tal_Botvinnik on April 30, 2013, 6:24 GMT

I agree Get Mathews in. His Captaincy is not bad and its because of Pune's reckless batting they lost. In the SLPL He turned the most weakest team into a formidabble team and made them reach the finals. He was 2nd leading runscorer batting at NO 04 and he had a 73* of 33 balls against a attack which comprised of U Gul, S Senanayake, J Oram on a slow track in the final. He was the only player to look comfortable. Even in his 77* vs Australia he tore apart Johnson, Siddle, McKay, and doherty (all the bowlers were looking dangerous). There is no question about his ability. He is a good bowler too. If your players and Management are not willing to cooperate with you what can a captain do?

Finch is very poor captain, when gayle going berserk he brought him on and bowled some innocous looking variety of long hops and half a vollies which gayle relished. He got B Kumar out of the attack when he was looking good.

To be honest, this should be an easy win for CSK unless they do something silly.

  • on April 30, 2013, 5:54 GMT

    @Anand Kumar: Well Said. Playing 11 is 1.)Miachel hussey,2.)Faf Du Plesiss (if fit) / Albi Morkal (if Fit),3.)Suresh Raina,4.)Wridhimann Saha / Vijay,5.)Mahendra Singh Dhoni,6.)Ravindra Jadeja,7.)Dwayne Bravo,8.)Chris Morris,9.)Ravichandran Ashwin,10.)Mohit Sharma,11.)Imtiaz Ahmed.

Previews involved super kings always pushed down in the frontpage , why ? on the last gameday involving csk , the pune vs delhi match (both bottom of the table , less importance) got the top place despite starting later in the night but csk preview pushed down despite its an evening match. ANd today also the preview couldn't get into top 4 , So much partiality in CI.

  • Tal_Botvinnik on April 30, 2013, 5:41 GMT

Luke Wright other than his 34 of 10 has done absolutely nothing. Please send him up the order as he is not really a middle order batsmen. Smith should go to the No. 04. Get Taylor in for Rich, Finch is a mediocre captain. The added pressure is ruining his batting.

    1.A Finch, 2.Robin U, 3.L Wright, 4.Steve S,5.R Taylor, 6.Y Singh, 7.A Majumdar, 8.P Rasool, 9.B Kumar, 10.A Dinda, 11.R Sharma

  • johnathonjosephs on April 30, 2013, 5:34 GMT

Problem with Pune Warriors is their international squad. Luke Wright has had one good bowling outing and one good batting outing out of 3 matches. He has failed other than those times. Mitchell Marsh is nowhere near a good bowler, but he can bat. The question is, would you consider his batting to be superior to Ross Taylor? Likewise, Matthews should come back for Luke Wright and Taylor for Mitchell Marsh. Team: Aaron Finch, Uthappa, Ross Taylor, Yuvraj Singh, Manish Pandey, Angelo Matthews, and Stephen Smith is a fomidable batting lineup. Bhuvnesh and Dinda have been in decent form. Add part timers via Yuvraj, Angelo (who does a pretty good job btw), and add a spinner or 2 and you got a golden combination

  • on April 30, 2013, 5:19 GMT

Why Dhoni is not giving chance to Jadeja now a days ? Is he fear of jadeja become famous in T20. I read jadeja was famous in fantacy league. Dhoni realized it and now Jadeja is 6th in the batting order and only delivering few overs.

  • VJGS on April 30, 2013, 4:46 GMT

CSK need to be wary of Finch and Steve Smith. The latter seems to enjoy playing against CSK and was responsible for 2 losses for CSK. If Albie Morkel is fit, he should replace Nannes as he is an integral part of CSK's lineup, especially from the semi-finals onward. If not, they should stick with Nannes and give him some chance to shake the rust off.

  • Htc-Android on April 30, 2013, 4:20 GMT

@Narbavi. You are wrong. They won one match under him. Infact now they are doing worse under finch now. Clealy we found the reason behind all these loses. Their batsman never gave support to him. But i agree mathews wasnt at his best with the bat. But so far his captaincy wasnt that bad and he is handy with the ball too. Yuvi/Taylor/ Mathews are the best choice for captaincy at the moment.

  • on April 30, 2013, 4:18 GMT

for heavens sake PUNE select Mathews.Hes your best allrounder (smith doesnt even bowl in international cricket and i havent seen him bowl in IPL either) he can fire in good yorkers in the death also and has a cool head like dhoni to finish off games. My 4 international players would be Mathews,Finch,Richardson and Smith.Im not saying this just cause im a sri lankan but im saying it as a true fan of cricket.Best of luck PWI!

  • on April 30, 2013, 3:27 GMT

Hello PWI management, pick mathews back. he is a well talented young blood to handle some pressure situations unlike Wright or Smith. Stick with Mathews if you have some brain. Then only your woes will come to an end.

  • Narbavi on April 30, 2013, 2:36 GMT

@Isuru Munasinghe: Lost all games in his presence too, ha ha ha

  • arjun401 on April 30, 2013, 0:56 GMT

i dont know Why pwi lose the games? pwi have big intermational players in there squad compare the all the ipl teams , pwi team must win the remaing all games they get chance of play off, in my point of view pwi x1 1.uthappa-bat 2.manish panday-bat 3.samule-bat/ball 4.yuvaraj-bat/ball 5.mathews-bat/ball 6.marsh-bat/ball 7.suman-bat 8.abhishek-bat/ball 9.kumar-ball 10.parnell-ball 11.dinda-ball once this team 8 batting and bowling options here, go pwi go

  • on April 30, 2013, 0:21 GMT

Csk has unbeaten away record this season:)

  • HirenXI on April 29, 2013, 21:14 GMT

Steve Smith should be batting higher up the order. Mathews should replace Wright. Mathews is much better with bowl and bat than Wright.

  • InsaneInsaan on April 29, 2013, 20:55 GMT

CSK thinktank of dhoni+fleming is the best. Morris fits in perfectly.they dropped vijay when he wasnt doing well. MI thinktank is worst. they bought maxwell and didnt give a game until now. they are persisting with tendulkar and harming the team progress.

  • Shan156 on April 29, 2013, 20:51 GMT

CSK's biggest problem is their bowling which, to me, is not any better than Warriors'. In fact, I would rank them below Warriors. However, their batting, which ought to be the best among IPL teams or at least rank very highly, compensates for it. Especially, the presence of Mr.Cricket at the top of the order is a huge plus for CSK. However, Hussey cannot do it every time. The law of averages will catch up on him some time soon and he will have a bad game or two. Chennai should rest him in couple of games and try out other options because they can afford to. Warriors, OTOH, ought to win most of their games from this point but I don't see them reaching the knock-out stages.

  • on April 29, 2013, 20:51 GMT

If pune to get back on track either Mathews or Taylor should lead the side. Finch is bit tentative and out of ideas in crucial stages. Uttapha should change the batting style(have to attack from the beginning itselflike he did when he was playing for RCB) if not with the slow start middle order tends to get more pressure stabilizing the scoring rate and as a result loses quick wickets. If these things happen certainly PWI can change their fortunes :)

  • thinkgood on April 29, 2013, 20:46 GMT

@SuperKings2012 : CSK also lost one very close match with MI. So you can count that as one with wins too. Go CSK !!!!!!

  • thinkgood on April 29, 2013, 20:16 GMT

CSK must leave behind its problems in Chennai and come renewed with better bowling plan and fielding efforts. CSK would underestimate PWI at its own peril. Never underestimate any team and CSK should know that from its past mistakes. Good luck CSK. Go CSK !!!!!!

  • on April 29, 2013, 19:41 GMT

No mathews no win for pune buhahahaha.....

  • ladycricfan on April 29, 2013, 19:40 GMT

No team is into the play offs yet. No team is out of play offs either. So every match is still important. PWI beat CSK in chennai. They are a good team. They are some how losing to other teams. CSK, play hard and secure a win. Expect an unchanged side. Hope Nannes to fire tomorrow. Good luck to both teams.

  • sboyipl on April 29, 2013, 19:25 GMT

come on Pwi . csk is waiting to beat you.csk is always rocking. Go ahead

  • CricketAkshay on April 29, 2013, 19:06 GMT

You see in that particular match against Pune, CSK did not pick the right combination and hence they paid the price for it. Now they look a formidable side and should not find it diffuclt

  • IndCricFan2013 on April 29, 2013, 19:03 GMT

CSK own only two matches convincingly. 5 matches they own in the last over. PWI has nothing to lose, so, it will be good challenge for CSK.

  • mailatpsa on April 29, 2013, 18:05 GMT

CSK is good chance of paly off. This result doesn't hurt both team. If CSK lose this match, no team get advantage of this result. CSK perform better in tuff time only. CSK going same playing IX untill unfit. PWI under performer of this year so far. Good luck PWI. ~ Ç$K FÅÑS ~

  • on April 29, 2013, 18:01 GMT

CSK seems to have found the winning formula. Against KKR, Saha gave a quick start at the top along with Hussey. Nannes was rusty but that was his first match after an injury layoff so he'll get better in the next few games. Unchanged lineup will do it. Hussey, Saha, Raina, Badri, Dhoni, Jadeja, Bravo, Morris, Ashwin, Mohit, Nannes.

  • SRAM20 on April 29, 2013, 18:01 GMT

CSK need to make sure they keep winning so that they, 1) keep the momentum flowing, and 2) they make sure that they end up in the Top 2 so that they get two cracks at making the final. Its very important for CSK to end up at the top two spots.

They should also give Faf a chance

  • on April 29, 2013, 17:29 GMT

Probably not an important match for both teams, a loss wouldn;t hurt CSK much nor a win would do any good for PWI. But CSK would be looking to beat PWI since they lost their home game against them. CSK still needs a few wins to cement their place, so better not to experiment with the team just as yet. GO CSK (Y)

  • Tal_Botvinnik on April 29, 2013, 17:22 GMT

Pune are in no pressure because they are in the bottom and if they lose to the top ranked team, it won't be a big deal. Everybody expects them to lose. On the other hand if the top ranked team loses to PWI to would be a ugly smudge on their smooth campaign so far.PWI have nothing to lose while CSK are in tremendous pressure.

  • on April 29, 2013, 16:53 GMT

As CSK has already won 7 out of 9 games, they need 3 or 4 wins to finish to qualify for first qualifier. So they can afford some experiments at this point. At this stage, biggest concern for CSK is death bowling. In form of Morris, they have got a brilliant death-overs specialist. They need one other guy who can finish well. Probably, they can try some indian quicks.Imtiaz Ahmed is a great prospect. He can bat well too. So,my CSK line up for next matches:1.)Miachel hussey,2.)Faf Du Plesiss(if fit),3.)Suresh Raina,4.)Wridhimann Saha,5.)Mahendra Singh Dhoni,6.)Ravindra Jadeja,7.)Dwayne Bravo,8.)Chris Morris,9.)Ravichandran Ashwin,10.)Mohit Sharma,11.)Imtiaz Ahmed or Ronit More.If Faf is not fit, then Dirk Nannes or AKila Dananjaya should be used.

They need a special knock from Uthappa or a Finch or anybody for that matter, they have a lot of special players, i wonder how they aren't clicking, but irrespective whatever they post CSK has a lot of firepower which is in terrific form, someone has to take down Hussey right at the beginning to have a chance!!
