Indian Premier League - 40th match

Rajasthan Royals v Royal Challengers Bangalore

Rajasthan Royals won by 4 wickets (with 1 ball remaining)

The RCB openers are out in the middle. The ground is filling up, a hot day. Mukund will face, Chandila to bowl, has a slip

Ashwin Kumar: "For the first time in almost three years, i see a pretty much balanced RCB side. Hopefully they pull off a good performance and get that vital away win. PLAN A - Get Watson Out early, PLAN B- Get Watson out early, PLAN C- Get Watson out early. Stick to any of these plans and we can get that vital away vicctory"

There was some confusion earlier about the XI. AB de Villiers is listed as playing in the XI, according to the television coverage. Henriques has apparently replaced Tillakaratne Dilshan. Kohli said at the toss that AB has been replaced by Henriques, that was a mistake. It's actually Dilshan who has been left out.

Ankit : "Please be done with the temperature talks already. It's not as if it's the first time in history we have recorded those temperatures. BTW it's 6 degrees in Switzerland right now :D"

Vivek Bhandari: "Dravid has been a hard taskmaster when it comes to replace the players especially the wicketkeeping spot, which has become a musical chairs of sorts."

Anshul: "Why RR chose fielding? Could have taken batting and let RCB players roast in sun.. Allow Watson to bat without pressure of chasing and have Gayle and co. score under pressure and probably have chances of early wickets."

Sayeed: "Duh, its 38 degrees max in jaipur & 38 in mumbai too & u calling it furnace.. We poor hyderabadis got highest recorded temp of this summer at 43 degrees today... it feels like we sitting in a Volcano..."

Vishnu : "Happy to see that Owais Shah gets a chance and Sanju is back. But Sachin Baby? He didn't even get a chance to bat in the last game but still he misses out."

Toss: Rajasthan have won the toss and chosen to bowl. Abhinav Mukund comes in, so does Murali Kartik, and Henriques comes in too, for de Villiers, Kohli says. Owais Shah is in for Rajasthan, who have also made three changes. Sanju Samson replaces Dishant Yagnik and Sreesanth comes in place of Sachin Baby. For RCB, Mukund is in for Arun Karthik and Kartik replaces J Syed Mohammad. There's no Kevon Cooper for Rajasthan.

Ashwin: "@Aman : Gayle vs Faulkner sure must be great :D Kohli vs Rahane ? Fine.. But Dravid vs ABD?! C'mon, you gotta be kidding me..i dont see ANYTHING at all to compare among these two ! This is jus making up one more battle jus for the sake of sayin :P P.S - Just to be clear,I agree Rahul n ABD both excel in their own way,but never can be compared or pitched as a battle :|"

Anurag: "With Watson bowling now, I feel that Rajasthan Royals should drop Cooper and get in Owais Shah. This will strengthen their middle order which has been a worry for them this season."

Naveen: "While RCB start as favorites on account of their batting, RR have a good chance if they can put pressure on RCB's weak bowling. Rahane needs to fire at the top and if Watson can have another good day with the bat, it's game on!"

Shubham sharma: "RR and RD both have been scratchy last few games. Its still baffling why Ajit Chandila didn't complete his quota against CSK and PWI. With KKR losing against CSK last night, there is a more than fair chance of RR making it into play offs."

Narbavi: "Atleast the RR players would have been used to this heat to an extent but RCB players? No way, so if they field first and go on to chase anything close to 160, then i think they are toast!! Either way, i back RR to add an another victim!!"

Aman Parikh: "Its Orange cap vs Purple cap. Its Gayle vs Faulkner. It's Kohli vs Rahane. It's Rahul vs Abd.... This is a great start to a new week."

Mumbai's a furnace today, you can only imagine how hot it must be in Jaipur.

"Kiyan ho, Jaipoooooooor?" You betcha, that's Danny M's spirit welcoming you to Game 40. We are into the second half of the tournament. As you have seen, we have exhausted the word play on forts and Rajasthan. I will cut right to the chase, but in 15 minutes, with the toss

**

RCB travel to the fortress that is Jaipur. They've won all 6 home games so far this year, and lost all three away matches. Can they turn it around today? Here's our preview to RR v RCB.

19.5

Faulkner to Vinay Kumar, SIX, Length ball and Vinay's scoring some crucial runs here, gets under it and smashes it a fair distance over the long-on boundary

19.6

Faulkner to Vinay Kumar, SIX, three in the final over, how critical will this late assault be in the outcome? A quick length ball this time and he swings that away over deep midwicket

It's been an innings of comebacks for Royals but they've let it slip in that final over. 171 is a formidable score, Rajasthan would have hoped to restrict them to somewhere around 160. Faulkner was excellent in the field and good with the ball, until that final over. It leaked 22 runs. Join us in a bit for the Royals chase.
