I was a huge Gambhir fan and had been patiently waiting for a good knock to come.People have a lot of expectation from him but he is just not who he used to be. Something seem to have gone really wrong with him. I can't stand Virat as a person but he is a great player. Wish them both very best. Hoping GG scores big tonight.

Uthappa has had several chances opening the batting in the IPL for previous teams - Not a good idea, he is never that consistent (2-4 games is all that he will perform throughout the IPL). Gambhir and given that he is Gambhir can NOW be highly expected to strike a rich vein of form in the upcoming games.

Before the start of IPL, I had made the comment that If Gambhir 's career is over then why he has been made captain, and in case he still is a good bat, then why whole last season he failed to deliver in their pet formats.

KKR need to review this very soon, else they will be lagging behind. One or two knocks of 30-40 runs won't serve the purpose at top order. Even those are not coming, and he looks out of place.

KKR should open the batting with Uthappa, gambhir opening is not working for them.

KKR has been doing well in the batting department so far even without Gambhir's contribution. Pandey & Uthappa are playing well but I still believe they are missing one big hitter in the middle order who can really take the game away from the opposition. At the moment they will struggle to set 180-190 or chase close to 200, and Delhi proved that a total of around 160 odd is never out of reach. Yusuf Pathan doesn't look like the guy anymore who can destroy oppositions consistently & Shakib is at best a 20 ball 25 player. Suryakumar Yadav plays good cameos at the end. And if he gets the likes of a Chris Lynn for support, KKR can go a long way. Minor changes would be to try Cummins in place of Morkel to restrict runs at the death. These corrections will be handy if they have to beat a strong team like RCB.

Gambhir was putting too much pressure on himself ..since middle order has come good in both the matches .. gambhir will be less under pressure and will play his natural game...

'GG is just a knock away from striking form" - How long have we been hearing this? It is Raman's turn to say this now, that is all. Otherwise, his ills like guiding a catch to slips or short leg or throwing the wicket for the sake of aggression are becoming bigger with time. GG is now more respected in KKR for his leadership than his batting ability.

wv raman was appointed by gambhir himself as his personal batting coach last year after he was dropped from the indian team.now he is also part of kkr coaching staff.gambhir has been very often speaking to the media about he always plays to win matches he doesn't play ipl to get back in to the indian team.he has been repeating these statements for almost 1 year.better score your first run and improve your running between the wickets.tonights game it will be kohli vs gambhir.hope performance makes news and not bad behaviour.we have already had more than enough controversies.goodluck for both the teams.

It's really needed to get back in form & give good start at the top for By GG,but the good thing shown by the KKR middle order that they have the enough potential to answer the questions of the critics before the IPL started. For RCB it'll be a great news when Gayle come back in team but his form should be a concern just after getting back of an injury. Best of Luck #KKR #GG

Gambhir a knock away from striking form - Raman
Gautam Gambhir hasn't had a memorable start with the bat in IPL 2014 with two ducks in as many games, but the Kolkata Knight Riders captain has the backing of coach WV Raman, who says he is just one innings away from striking form. Gambhir made an eight-ball duck in the opening game against Mumbai Indians and in the second game against Delhi Daredevils, he lasted only half those balls before he was caught at short fine leg.

"Gautam Gambhir is just one knock away from striking form," Raman was quoted in iplt20.com. "He is too good a player to allow this to happen for too long. Hopefully, he will get going sooner rather than later and once he gets going, you know what he is capable of. You know what has happened as far as results are concerned for KKR when he has got going. We are hoping that he will find his rhythm quickly."

Knight Riders began with a convincing win against Mumbai but went down in the last over to Delhi Daredevils in defence of 166. Raman said the biggest takeaway from the Daredevils game was the way the middle order covered the slack after the openers fell for ducks. "We were in a tight situation in that game while batting, but we got out of it and posted a good score," he said. "The good thing about the team is that the guys are there to put their hands up and be counted."

We have done well without Gayle - Parthiv
Royal Challengers Bangalore's wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel has said the team has managed well without their star overseas player Chris Gayle, who sat out both games due to a sore back. Parthiv, however, wasn't certain if Gayle would return for their next game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday.

"We have done well without Gayle, which shows how strong our batting is," Parthiv told iplt20.com. "Once Chris comes, obviously, it will be a great boost for the team and I am sure he will be a very big threat. Having said that, our bowlers have done really well to restrict the opponents, which has helped us chase down targets."

Parthiv has been in good form as an opener, scoring 37 against Delhi Daredevils and an unbeaten 57 against Mumbai Indians, helping his side to victory after a wobbly 17 for 3. Parthiv's form has been crucial for Royal Challengers in Gayle's absence, given that his replacement Nic Maddinson hasn't fired. "I have started well in the tournament and I would like to just go out there and play myself in and get as many runs as possible for the team," Parthiv said. "I have my own strengths and have made myself a bit of a T20 cricketer. I know my limitations."
