Australia in India ODI Series - 5th ODI

India v Australia

Australia won by 9 wickets (with 145 balls remaining)

0.4

Lee to Ganguly, OUT, oh thats just plain ridiculous! Lee bangs in a short ball on middle and leg, Ganguly gets up and plays it down into the midwicket region and sets off, Hodge swoops across, Tendulkar comes down a few steps and says go back, but Ganguly's halfway down the track and cant get back to his crease and Gilchrist just has to take an easy return over the stumps and whip off the bails

SC Ganguly run out 0 (5m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

India 5/1   SR Tendulkar 0* (0b)   B Lee 0.4-0-1-0

0.5

Lee to Dravid, OUT, thats plumb! Dravid goes for a first-ball duck! Lee pitches full on middle and off and gets the ball to swing on, Dravid tries to play it back straight while hopping back, gets stuck in the crease and is caught dead in front of leg! The ball stayed a touch low but thats out anywhere in the world

R Dravid lbw b Lee 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

India 5/2   SR Tendulkar 0* (0b)   B Lee 0.5-0-1-1

3.5

Johnson to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, edged and well taken! Johnson bowls another short delivery, it sits up and Yuvraj stands leaden-footed as he goes for an airy shot outside off stump, theres the thinnest of under-edges which Gilchrist holds very low above the ground! An especially good take because Gilchrist was moving to his left initially but then had to adjust as the ball deviated to his right, plucking it one-handed very low. India jolted by three quick strikes

Yuvraj Singh c †Gilchrist b Johnson 1 (16m 7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 14.28

India 12/3   SR Tendulkar 4* (11b 1x4)   MG Johnson 1.5-0-5-1

7.1

Johnson to Uthappa, OUT, another one bites the dust! Johnson pitches it back of a length, Uthappa gets a stride forward from his crease and plays, but misses, and the ball raps him on the pads as it angles across off stump, and even before Johnson and Gilchrist finish appealing umpire Sahiba's finger shoots up ... an iffy call, as it looked like the ball was going outside the line of impact. And the height is an issue.

RV Uthappa lbw b Johnson 5 (17m 6b 1x4 0x6) SR: 83.33

India 33/4   SR Tendulkar 14* (25b 3x4)   MG Johnson 3.1-0-9-2

9.2

Johnson to Dhoni, OUT, and the captain goes! Johnson bowls it down the leg side off a short length, angling it away from the right-hander and Dhoni goes for some sort of one-handed nudge off the pads, there's touch and deviation and Gilchrist takes another good catch, this time diving full length to his left and plucking it ... are India in trouble or what?

MS Dhoni c †Gilchrist b Johnson 4 (12m 7b 1x4 0x6) SR: 57.14

India 43/5   SR Tendulkar 18* (31b 4x4)   MG Johnson 4.2-0-14-3

25.3

Lee to Tendulkar, OUT, edged and gone! A Lee special, the best ball he's bowled today, pitching on a good length and sucking Tendulkar forward into the straight drive, then deviating and drawing the outside edge which Gilchrist gleefully snaps up! The bowling changes works perfectly and Tendulkar goes for 47

SR Tendulkar c †Gilchrist b Lee 47 (128m 73b 9x4 0x6) SR: 64.38

India 92/6   IK Pathan 18* (55b 1x4 1x6)   B Lee 5.3-0-20-2

26.6

Hogg to Harbhajan Singh, OUT, and Hogg wins that easy battle! A needless, reckless shot from Harbhajan, not even waiting to see what Hogg's got to offer, instead preferring to slog down the ground, miscuing it and giving mid-off, running back a little, a simple catch

Harbhajan Singh c Bracken b Hogg 5 (6m 3b 1x4 0x6) SR: 166.66

India 105/7   IK Pathan 26* (61b 2x4 1x6)   GB Hogg 6-0-19-1

27.4

Johnson to Pathan, OUT, and thats four for Johnson! Simple dismissal, the ball pitching on a good length, moving away ever so slightly, drawing the thick outside edge off the bat and Gilchrist takes it easily

IK Pathan c †Gilchrist b Johnson 26 (84m 63b 2x4 1x6) SR: 41.26

India 106/8   M Kartik 0* (2b)   MG Johnson 6.4-0-19-4

29.1

Johnson to Kartik, OUT, maiden five-for for Johnson, a special moment! Steams in, bangs it in on a short length and forces Kartik to hop up and steer it into Gilchrist's safe gloves! India nine down!

M Kartik c †Gilchrist b Johnson 0 (11m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

India 107/9   Z Khan 1* (7b)   MG Johnson 7.1-0-20-5

39.4

Bracken to Khan, OUT, and thats the end of that! An enterprising stand of 41 is snapped by Bracken as Zaheer drives a full delivery and gets a thin edge into Gilchrist's gloves, his sixth catch today

Z Khan c †Gilchrist b Bracken 28 (51m 44b 0x4 2x6) SR: 63.63

India 148/10   RP Singh 12* (27b 1x4)   NW Bracken 8.4-0-29-1
