And that's lunch. Another session that India has dominated. Kris Srikkanth and the rest of the selectors will have an interesting choice to make before the third Test if Mishra continues to bowl as well as he has so far.

India's bowlers were all in great form in the first session: Zaheer and Ishant probing away outside off and the spinners have kept the pressure on. Harbhajan has been flighting the ball a lot more than he has in recent times while Australia's batsmen haven't yet come to terms with Mishra's variations.

Australia need another 96 runs to avoid the follow-on.

Ratan writes in to say: "If Australia are bowled out inside 269, India should not enforce the follow on. India should take their lead to more than 450 and bat till lunch on 4th day. That will give their bowlers a supporting spin track, enough time and enough score to put pressure on Aussies. India can easily take lead in the series from this match."

Ratan's mail is getting a lot of replies. Prasanth says: "I agree with Ratan for most part, but feel that a lead of nothing less than 500 is important. And 130 overs is more than enough time to dismiss all Aussie batsmen. So the Indian batsmen must bat until just before Tea on the 4th day, and then declare. Let's see how it unfolds"

Isaac also agrees with Ratan: "India should not impose follow on. India should bat again and score some aggressive runs to increase and set a target somewhere from 475 to 500. They should make sure not to give adequate time for Aussie stroke makers to settle down at the same time bowl with an offensive field. They should not play defensive cricket. India as of now is in a very strong position and they need to capitalize on it. One never gets such chances against the Aussies."
