9.30 am local time: Sehwag will face the first ball of the third day from Ntini, bowling over the wicket. Jaffer's at the non-striker's end.

Smith had a chat with his team before they took the field. Let's wait and see if Steyn, Ntini, Morkel and Harris can get anything out of the pitch.

9.18 am: "Maybe we are watching Virender Sehwag's second coming here. He has been revitalised by that Adelaide hundred," says Brendan from Australia. A fine hundred that was too, a single-handed match-saving effort.

"If India bat out this entire day, they will have a chance to win this match on the fifth day by bowling South Africa out. Not sure why South Africa did not pick a second spinner in Peterson after seeing this wicket," says Tilo.

Aditya has this to say about the pitches in India: "I think all wickets in India have got better for batting over the years. Mohali used to be such a sporting wicket but over the years it has flattened out, Eden Gardens has always been a flatbed that rarely becomes a minefield these days. I think Nagpur is a pretty good wicket and Mumbai is the kind of pitch where you would simply not want to bat last."

Only about five minutes to go until play begins ...

Day three, 9.00 am: Hello champs and welcome to the third day of the run fest between India and South Africa in Chennai. India begin the day on 82 for no loss with Sehwag on 52 and Jaffer on 25. Clear skies once again in Chennai so it could be another hot and grueling day for the bowlers.

Siddhartha Vaidyanathan, Cricinfo's man at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, wrote this after Hashim Amla's excellent hundred on the second day. It's worth a read. I'm George Binoy and I'll bring you the runs as they're scored on the third day (hopefully some wickets as well!).

By the way, fantasy scores have been updated for the second day, click here to check them, or to create your six-a-side teams.
