Janaka: "The only way Sri Lanka would win this test series is if they had all three of their premier fast bowlers: they need Thushara, Malinga and Kulasekera. Matthews is a very average test match bowler and is only in the team because he can bat. Welegedara is not experienced enough to be the number one fast bowler. The selectors made a big mistake by keeping Kulasekera out! Out with Herath, in with Kula."

Karthik: "What score do you think will be enough for Dhoni to declare? I think he will take the safe route and try to get close to 650 or 700. However, I wouldn't disagree with a declaration around 600 either. Regardless of the declaration score, the match will hinge on the Indians' ability to bowl out the Sri Lankans."

The ease with which India have handled the spinners is evident in that each of the batsmen, when they arrived fresh to the crease, were able to pick singles readily. Dravid, who is generally a cautious starter, was quick to get off the blocks yesterday. Gambhir and Sehwag attacked the spinners head-on and Laxman has got into his groove fairly early now

And that's lunch. India's session yet again, but the best one Sri Lanka have had in this Test. They grabbed two big wickets; one a result of smart bowling, the other a consequence of sheer luck. But their spinners have been able to extract more turn than before, got some zip and some bounce to back it up. That will encourage the Indians more, for they have a mammoth score already on the board. Yuvraj and Laxman are settled in fine and will look to step it up further in about 35 minutes time. Join us then while I try to grab something to eat in the meantime.

That's tea with India seven down. Sri Lanka have captured three wickets this session but India have amassed a substantial score here. Yuvraj may try to extend it to around the 700-mark when we return and India will look to get a bowl at the visitors for around an hour this evening. Siddarth Ravindran will take you through the remainder of the day. The pitch is taking turn and the Indian slow bowlers will be heartened by what they've seen in the last few overs. Catch you later.

Thanks Talya. Zaheer walks out with a floppy hat on, he'll be on strike.
