Reigate Priory CC's Priory Ground first staged cricket in 1856 (four years after the formation of the club itself) but was not bought by the club until 1921. The first first-class match was in 1909 when Surrey entertained Cambridge University - a mix-up meant they were also playing Lancashire at The Oval! In 1928 and 1933 West Indies opened their tour with a one-day game against the club, and in 1935 South Africa did the same. The venue was damaged during the war, but since then it has staged a number of benefit matches. The ground is situated close to the town centre.
